Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said he is in no rush to sign a new contract on Monday, while captain Cesc Fabregas gave a more definitive pledge to stay with the Premier League club.
Despite failing to win a trophy since 2005, Wenger is still in demand by clubs throughout Europe due to his ability to nurture young players into becoming highly prized.
"I have a contract until 2011," said Wenger, who took charge of Arsenal in 1996. "That is quite a long time. I believe Arsenal is my club. Because it is my club, it is the only club. I arrived here a long time ago.
"I believe in the potential of this club. I want to give this club the opportunity to win (the Champions League). That is why I work so hard."
Wenger's side has a chance to win the Champions League this season, but first has to overturn a 1-0 deficit in the semifinal against Manchester United on Tuesday.
Wenger has won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups, but was denied Europe's top prize by Barcelona in the 2006 final.
"No matter what happens on Tuesday, I believe this team will make a big impact in the game and that is what we want to continue to develop, no matter what happens," Wenger said. "My obsession is to play as well as possible and win as much as possible. I don't think that winning the Champions League is the sole motivation to continue as a coach."
Like Wenger, Fabregas has been linked with a move to Real Madrid despite being contracted to Arsenal until 2014.
"How many times have I said this? My future belongs to Arsenal and I want to be at Arsenal," the Spain midfielder said on his 22nd birthday. "I see my future here. I do not have to tell anyone to be relaxed or more confident that I am staying.
"My name has been linked with other clubs for four years and I am still here _ that should tell something."
Fabregas joined at 16 in 2003 from Barcelona after rising through the Spanish club's youth structure.
"If I had not come to Arsenal when I was 16, today I probably would not be playing in the semifinals of the Champions League or have the opportunity to play in a Champions League final," Fabregas said. "I am really grateful to what Arsenal have done for me. This club is very special _ it's one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
"They have treated me amazingly, all the fans, all the club in general, but now it's up to me and the players to pay them back for these kind of things: to make finals and make everyone happy."
