Spain Through To World Cup Final, Kylian Mbappe's France Knocked Out

Spain are through to the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, outclassing France 2-0 in their blockbuster semi-final clash in Dallas. A penalty goal from forward Mikel Oyarzabal in the first half and a second half strike by right-back Pedro Porro sealed victory for Spain. Lamine Yamal won the penalty due to a foul by France left-back Lucas Digne in the 20th minute, after which Oyarzabal converted the penalty. France suffered a big injury blow in the first half, as centre-back William Saliba was forced to go off injured. Spain also made history, being the first team in history to start two teenagers in a World Cup semi-final. It was an off day for Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Michael Olise, as France failed to score in a game in the ongoing edition for the first time.
