Mexico became the first team to qualify for the FIFA World Cup knockout stage after a narrow 1-0 victory over South Korea. Luis Romo scored the decisive goal in the 50th minute following a defensive error from the South Korean goalkeeper, as Mexico secured back-to-back wins to top Group A with six points.
