Ivory Coast began their World Cup campaign with a narrow 1–0 victory over Ecuador in Philadelphia, courtesy of a decisive goal from Manchester United’s Amad Diallo. However, the win came under unusual circumstances as many Ivory Coast fans were unable to attend the match in person due to US visa restrictions affecting visitors from several countries.
