Canada vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Highlights, FIFA World Cup 2026: Co-hosts Canada drew 1-1 against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a dramatic FIFA World Cup 2026 Group B opener in Toronto. Bosnia and Herzegovina took the lead in the first half, as forward Jovo Lukic scored from a corner in the 21st minute. Canada created plenty of chances, and managed to score the equalizer in the 78th minute, as substitute Cyle Larin struck moments after coming off the bench. Canada striker Jonathan David missed a big chance in the first half, while another opportunity went begging when Bosnian captain Sead Kolasinac made a goalline clearance of the crossbar in the second half. Canada have secured their first-ever point at a FIFA World Cup. After six defeats in six games in previous editions, Canada have secured their first point with the draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina. A special moment too, doing it on home soil, in front of a passionate Toronto crowd. 

It is no less than they deserve. Canada missed a few big chances in the first half, but they created far more chances than Bosnia and Herzegovina did, and ultimately got the reward as Cyle Larin scored.

64' Canada's 6'5" striker Promise David, fresh off the bench, holds off a couple of defenders to create some space and get a shot away in the box. Unfortunately for him, the shot is blocked by Bosnia and Herzegovina. There may have been a shirt pull in the box, but not serious enough for the referee to have a look.

53' How have Canada not scored!? Liam Millar with some lovely work down the left, sends Oluwaseyi through who takes a lovely shot. The shot goes past the goalkeeper, but Bosnian captain Sead Kolasinac gets a crucial touch on the goalline! Incredibly, the ball bounces off the crossbar but does not go in! Incredibly unlucky for Canada, heroic in the end from Kolasinac.

Seconds later, it's a chance for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the other end, but the chance goes begging. End-to-end stuff.

48' Chance for Canada early in the second half! Tani Oluwaseyi creates space on the right wing and drives into the box, then fires a low ball in, which is scrambled away by the Bosnia and Herzegovina defence.

Moments later, Oluwaseyi goes down in the box after a collision with Bosnian goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj. Canada appeal for a penalty, but the referee doesn't think so.

It won't be an exaggeration to say that Canada have been the better side in terms of their movement, build-up and chance creation. But the most decisive aspect has been lacking: finishing. Jonathan David missed a glorious chance in the early minutes, hitting it straight at the goalkeeper despite having plenty of time and space. Tani Oluwaseyi also did well to create a chance for himself, but blazed it over the bar.
