Nicolas Anelka set for China move: Report

Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua reportedly want to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.

Anelka has scored only one goal in his last 26 games for Chelsea, and has started only three league games this season under coach Andre Villas-Boas.

The 32-year-old Anelka is out of contract next June and could leave in January, French newspaper L'Equipe said in its report Tuesday, without giving any details as to how much he would cost.

Calls made by The Associated Press to Shenhua were not answered.

Anelka has played for eight clubs in his career, but the former France striker has made the most appearances for Chelsea since joining in January 2008. He was the Premier League's top scorer with 19 goals the following season.
