Harmanpreet Kaur Made Us Proud, Says Academy Chairman

Harmanpreet Kaur, who started her cricket career at the Gian Jyoti academy in 2005, played a majestic knock of 171 not out against defending champions Australia to guide India to the final of the Women's World Cup. Talking exclusively to NDTV, the chairman of the academy said that the India vice-captain started her career as a pace bowler and eventually became an all-rounder. "Harmanpreet has made the academy proud with her performances in the World Cup," added the chairman. Commenting on her power hitting, students at the academy said, "It is exciting to watch Harmanpreet strike the ball around the park with such immense strength."
