Career Span |
The first player from Bangladesh to score a half century on debut, Farhad Reza represented the Rajshahi Division in the domestic leagues from 2004 until 2008. His prolific run-making on the domestic front handed him an international debut and in 2006, he played his maiden ODI against Zimbabwe.
A middle-order batsman and a handy medium-pace bowler, Reza was a good prospect for the national team but ruined his chances by joining the rebel league in 2008. Eventually, the Bangladesh Cricket Board imposed a 10-year ban. But, Reza quit the league the following year and was back in the scheme of things in 2011. The all-rounder’s abilities helped him secure a birth in the T20I squad for the 2012 World T20 in Sri Lanka.
