Ahmed Daniyal Profile

Ahmed Daniyal is another one of those express fast bowlers to have come out of Pakistan who has transitioned from tennis-ball cricket into the professional arena directly through the famous Lahore Qalandars Players Development Program. His rise to prominence is a classic testament to Pakistan's raw talent pathways, and it has not taken him long to become one of the most exciting pace prospects on the national selectors' radar.

Daniyal's senior international debut against Bangladesh in July 2025 was nothing short of a dream. He made an immediate impact by picking up 2 for 23 on his T20I debut, drawing early comparisons to some of Pakistan's great speedsters for his blistering pace. He further raised his stock on the pathway circuit during the ACC Men's Asia Cup Rising Stars in November 2025. Playing for the Pakistan Shaheens, he delivered a tournament-defining spell of 2/11 against Bangladesh A in the final, followed by a composed Super Over performance where he conceded just 6 runs and took both wickets to seal the championship and claim the Player of the Match honours.

On the domestic and global franchise circuit, Daniyal has quickly become a trusted short-format weapon. After early career stints with the Lahore Qalandars and the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, his multi-format utility was on full display during the 2026 Pakistan Super League for the Quetta Gladiators. He turned in several spectacular performances, including a lethal 3-wicket haul against the Karachi Kings and a masterfully economical spell against the Hyderabad Kingsmen, proving to be an invaluable asset under Powerplay and death-overs pressure. He also represented the Lahore Whites with distinction during the 2026 National T20 Cup, showcasing a rapidly improving lower-order batting capability alongside his primary skills with the ball.

The ultimate validation of his consistent performances across the 2025-26 season came following an impressive run for Pakistan A against the England Lions, when the national selection committee rewarded the pacer with his maiden senior international ODI call-up for a high-profile home series against world champions Australia.
