Vishnu Vinod is a wicket-keeper batsman hailing from Kerala and is known for his aggressive batting style. He opens the batting for them but is quite flexible with the ability to bat at any position. In the 2016-17 Inter-State T20 competition, he scored 199 in 4 matches at a strike rate of 164.46 which included 14 sixes, the most by anyone. This handed him an opportunity to represent South Zone in the Syed Musthaq Ali T20 trophy. There too, he put on an attacking display, striking at 161.90.
All these performances and his hard work in the U-23 and U-25 level saw him finally get a place in the Kerala Ranji trophy team. He scored a half century on debut and also added some more runs in his kitty in the following games. He had a similar run in the Vijay Hazare trophy. His big moment, however, came in the 2016 Indian T20 League when he received a call-up from the Bangalore franchise to replace the injured KL Rahul. He straightaway made debut for them but had a forgetful season with just single digit scores in each match.
