Prithvi Shaw | 40 | 42 | 3 | 2 | 95.23 |
12.1 OUT! Run Out! The last thing India would have wanted is a run out but that is what has happened here. This is what pressure does. Good length ball on the pads, Shaw turns it towards fine leg and dashes to the other end. He wants the second as well but Iyer is a bit hesitant for it. Shreyas though follows his partner's call and goes for the second as it is Prithvi who is running at the danger end. Colin de Grandhomme gets to the ball quickly and sends a decent throw at the keeper's end. Latham gets it on the bounce, around his chest. He whips the bails off as Shaw puts in a dive to get back in. The square leg umpire goes upstairs and replays find Shaw wanting. India lose their third wicket and it is the man who was set and looking in good touch. Unfortunate way for Shaw to depart. 62/3

Mayank Agarwal | 1 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 33.33 |
2 OUT! Bowled! New Zealand strike early and unlike in Tests, Mayank Agarwal has a forgetful debut series with the bat. Brilliant ball from the tall Jamieson. He did the damage in the second ODI and he looks to be in the mood today as well as he ends his first over with a wicket. Jamieson goes full on off, Mayank looks to push it towards mid on but the ball straightens up and goes past the outside edge to disturb the stumps. Superb ball and a dream wicket for any pace bowler especially in the first over. Tremendous start for the Kiwis. 8/1
| |||||
Virat Kohli C | 9 | 12 | 0 | 1 | 75 |
6.4 OUT! Caught! Massive, massive wicket for the Kiwis as the Indian skipper is out of here. Bennett has provided his skipper with a precious wicket. A wicket that is worth in gold. Bennett bangs it in short outside off, Kohli throws his bat at it and one would feel there was no reason for that especially at this stage. Virat never usually does this but this time he does and falls in the trap. The ball goes off the upper half of his bat and it flies to the right of third man. The tall figure of Kyle Jamieson there moves to his right and dives to take a very good catch. 32/2
| |||||
Shreyas Iyer | 62 | 63 | 9 | 0 | 98.41 |
30.3 OUT! Caught! Very good catch from Colin de Grandhomme. The century stand is broken and it has come against the run of play. Nothing was happening, the pair of Iyer and Rahul was going strong but looks like there is a lapse of concentration from Shreyas. Good length ball on the pads, Shreyas looks to flick but he is a bit early into his shot. He ends up getting a leading edge which is dipping in front of mid-wicket. De Grandhomme there dives in front and takes a good catch. This will dent India's score and a timely wicket for Kane Williamson as this pair was taking the game away from them. 162/4
| |||||
KL Rahul Wk | 112 | 113 | 9 | 2 | 99.11 |
46.4 OUT! Caught! Jamieson redeems himself in the next ball and takes a tougher chance than the one he dropped in the last ball. End of a fabulous innings from Rahul. He has done his job but he will be gutted to get out at this stage of the game. Good length ball on off, Rahul looks to play it over long off but it comes off the upper half of his bat and dips on its way to long off. Jamieson there dives in front and takes a good catch. This time Bennett has his man. 269/5
| |||||
Manish Pandey | 42 | 48 | 2 | 0 | 87.50 |
46.5 OUT! Caught! Both the set batters are out of here and Hamish is on a hat-trick now. Full on off, Manish looks to go over long on but he cannot time it well. The ball goes towards long on. Santner, one of the best fielders in the world is stationed there. He comes in and takes a good catch diving in front. As they say, one brings two and that has what has happened here. 269/6
| |||||
Ravindra Jadeja | 8 | 7 | 1 | 0 | 114.28 |
| |||||
Shardul Thakur | 7 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 116.66 |
48.2 OUT! Caught! It is a dipping full toss and hence no issue there. Bennett dishes out a full toss on middle, Thakur cannot get under it. He heaves it high in the air towards deep square leg. The ball goes high in the air and Colin de Grandhomme settles under it. He almost misjudges it and drops it but somehow the Kiwi all-rounder manages to hold onto it. The umpire goes upstairs to check whether it is over the waist but Hamish is safe there. 280/7

Martin Guptill | 66 | 46 | 6 | 4 | 143.47 |
16.3 OUT! Bowled! Finally India have a breakthrough and it is the dangerous Martin Guptill who leaves the crease. This is a lovely delivery from Chahal. He smartly gives this one a lot of air and makes this ball turn. It is a leg spinner pitching on middle. Guptill takes his front leg away and looks to defend. He misses and the ball hits the off pole. Guptill cannot believe what has happened. He's been completely bamboozled. Chahal and the Indians are up in joy. The leg spinner will remember this wicket for a while and just like on so many previous occasions, Yuzvendra has once again provided the breakthrough his skipper was desperately looking for. 106/1
| |||||
Henry Nicholls | 80 | 103 | 9 | 0 | 77.66 |
32.5 OUT! Caught behind! Nicholls is out of here and all of a sudden it is India who are on top and on driver's seat. Nicholls will be gutted with the way he has to go after being well-set. It is a nothing delivery, length ball wide outside off. Nicholls goes chasing after it like a kid chasing candy. He looks to slash but ends up getting a thin edge to the keeper. KL Rahul behind the stumps takes the catch and goes up in appeal. The umpire raises his finger and Nicholls walks back. 108 needed off 103 balls and it certainly is game on now. 189/4
| |||||
Kane Williamson C | 22 | 31 | 2 | 0 | 70.96 |
27.1 OUT! Caught! Kane Williamson departs. The Kiwi skipper is very unlucky there, he hit it with power but uppishly and straight to the man at mid-wicket. Not the best of balls from Chahal. It is a drag down on off, Williamson goes on his back foot and looks to smack it wide of mid-wicket. He hits it uppishly and straight to Mayank Agarwal. He does not even have to move an inch. He makes no mistake and Williamson cannot believe his luck. The budding stand is broken and India not out of this one. 159/2
| |||||
Ross Taylor | 12 | 18 | 1 | 0 | 66.66 |
31.5 OUT! Caught! Soft dismissal and Taylor is out of here. Is this the start of something for India? Floated on off, Jadeja bowls this a littler slower in the air. Taylor looks to drive but the ball sticks onto the surface. Taylor is early in his drive and ends up hitting it uppishly. It goes straight to the man at short cover. Virat Kohli there won't drop those and India's hope stays alive. For the first time in this series Taylor is walking back to the pavilion. Is this the twist in the tale? Can Indian sneak in through this tinny little opening? 186/3

James Neesham | 19 | 25 | 1 | 1 | 76 |
39.3 OUT! Caught! Chahal's knack of picking up wickets continues. He is a gutsy bowler and this shows that. Not his best ball but all the pressure India built before this led to them getting this wicket. Half-volley on off and middle, Neesham looks to heave it but does not get the elevation. He hits it straight to mid-wicket. Straight into the bucket hands of Virat Kohli. He takes the catch. Neesham is furious with himself. 220/5
