Right then, that's all from this match and series. Afghanistan will now take part in a 3-match ODI series against West Indies, first of which will be played on 9th June in St Lucia at 1430 local (1830 GMT). Do join us for all the action. Cheers!
Asghar Stanikzai admits that they didn't perform well in the first two games but showed improvement today and he hopes to carry the positives in the ODI series. Feels that more they play the top teams, better they will get. He is hopeful of doing good in the ODIs.
Carlos Brathwaite says that they didn't bowl really well and went away from the plans. Considers it a clinical performance with the bat and praises Marlon Samuels for his knock. Admits that Afghanistan played a lot better today and praised them for their progress. Feels that 3-0 against any team is big.
Player of the Match and Series, Marlon Samuels says that he just played the role that was given to him. Adds that the plan was to build partnerships once a wicket falls and steady the ship. Feels that as a senior player his role is to guide the youngsters with his experience. Informs that he always tells the junior batsmen to rotate the strike. Also says that there are a lot of young players in the side and once they settle in they all can play shots.
Afghanistan initiated well with the ball but then failed to maintain the same intensity. They looked clueless against the power hitting of Marlon Samuels and almost surrendered towards the end. Rashid Khan once again was economical but failed to provide more than one breakthrough which was the need of the hour. This ends a very disappointing T20I series for the Afghans in which they got beaten quite comprehensively.
Clean sweep! Mission accomplished for West Indies. After a couple of easy wins, it was a good workout for them. Chasing a challenging target, the hosts slipped a bit up front but Marlon Samuels stood like a rock at one end. He did the bulk of the scoring and threaded a couple of vital partnerships with Evin Lewis and Jason Mohammed respectively to seal the deal.
