That's it from us today. Hope you enjoyed our coverage as much as Rashid Khan enjoyed those googlies and David Warner his batting. But remember today is a double header and there is still one more match to go. Mumbai host Kolkata at the Wankhede Stadium. The action will start at 2000 local, 1430 GMT. Do follow the updates of the second match of the evening. Cheers!
Man of the Match, Rashid Khan thanks the Almighty. Says that it's sending a wonderful message to Afghanistan that he is performing really well here. Thanks the Hyderabadi fans for constantly supporting him. Adds that the coach asked him where he likes to bowl and he replied that he was ready to bowl anywhere, in the Powerplay or the death overs. Also reveals that the team wanted him to bowl in the first six overs. Opines that the batsmen weren't able to read his googlies and that worked for him.
Hyderabad captain, David Warner calls it a fantastic effort from the bowlers considering that the ball was coming onto the bat. Credits Rashid Khan for bowling well. Reveals that the leggie asked him for the ball and he performed. Says that winning the toss was important as they wanted to chase and also praises the curator for providing these kind of surfaces. Opines that Rashid is a superstar in the making and in absence of Mustafizur Rahman he is doing really well. States that the bowlers execute their plans very well. Conveys that when there is a low score they try to chase it quickly keeping the net run rate in mind. Ends by saying that Henriques batting at number 3 is a really huge asset.
Gujarat captain, Suresh Raina says that they didn't put enough runs on the board. Mentions that the Afghanistan spinner (Rashid Khan) bowled well. Admits that the bowling department is weak and it needs improvement. Opines that the beginning they got was good enough but Rashid Khan bowled tremendously well. States that bowling needs to improve drastically and also adds that if that doesn't happen they don't deserve to be in the top four. Says that the batsmen hadn't played Rashid Khan much that's why they failed to pick him. Hints that Jadeja might come back for the next match. Ends by saying Jason Roy's batting was a positive and Smith too was effective in the middle overs.
Talking about Gujarat's bowling performance, there wasn't anything noteworthy. The fielders too didn't show any intensity on the field. Barring Shivil Kaushik, who was frugal, all the bowlers endured a bad day at the office. Basil Thampi and Tejas Baroka both had forgettable debuts and Praveen Kumar took the only wicket of the innings. Earlier, it was Rashid Khan, who set up the match for the hosts as he scalped three wickets. Jason Roy, Dinesh Karthik and Dwayne Smith contributed to take the score past 130, which was below par.
Twice, Gujarat have failed to bowl full 20 overs. If this is not an enough indication for the think tank to change things, I don't know what is! 135 never seemed to be a good total and David Warner tonked Suresh Raina for 21 runs in the 3rd over of the chase, with that any hope of a visitors' win faded away. Warner led from the front as he slammed his 33rd Indian T20 league fifty at a strike rate of 168.89. Moises Henriques ably supported him from the other end, scoring his second consecutive half century in the process. The pair was hardly perturbed, after the early wicket of Shikhar Dhawan, and ensured that Hyderabad won't need the services of Yuvraj Singh.

SIX! DAVID WARNER FINISHES IT OFF IN STYLE! The skipper leading from the front. He stands his ground to this loopy full delivery and murders it right back over the bowler's head. Dead straight and that will sail over the fence. Maximum! With that, HYDERABAD WIN THIS MATCH BY 9 WICKETS AND 27 BALLS TO SPARE!
