That's it from us then on this Super Sunday. Hope you enjoyed all the action of the double-header tonight. Tomorrow there will be a solitary game as Australia will face Bangladesh and it will be at Bengaluru again. Do join us for that one. Until then, it's goodbye from us. Take care!
ANGELO MATHEWS accepts that his team had a bad night. Feels that his team's middle order let them down as losing wickets constantly didn't help their cause. Says that such things should be avoided. Adds that they aimed to get to 150 somehow but just couldn't get the task done. Points out the importance of winning a World Cup trophy. Says that his side is short on experience but expresses happiness on the improvement shown on a daily basis.
DARREN SAMMY says that they have always had close battles with Sri Lanka. States that their record against the Lankans hasn't been great in World Cups and expresses his happiness at the win tonight. Credits his bowlers for putting in a disciplined show. Says that Fletcher was selected as an opener in the original squad and praises the youngster for stepping up in a crisis. Praises his bowlers, particularly the spinners for choking the Lankans in the Powerplay overs. Applauds Badree for his stellar performance. Says that this tournament is special as most of the players will be playing their last World T20. Maintains that his team has many match-winners although Gayle is the biggest player. Ends by revealing that their team has got tremendous local support due to Gayle.
ANDRE FLETCHER (MAN OF THE MATCH) says that it was a good feeling to win the game. Adds that it was difficult to bat early on but then as the ball got softer, it was easier. Lauds Gayle's importance in his career and terms his teammate as his mentor. States that Gayle is irreplaceable. Credits his team's bowlers for restricting Sri Lanka to a low total. Ends by saying that it is good to cross the line for the second successive game. States that the team is gelling well together. Doesn't want his side to be complacent.
This is West Indies' first ever win chasing against Sri Lanka in T20Is. They couldn't have found a better stage to break their chasing jinx. Two wins and they have one foot in the semi finals of the 2016 World T20. Sri Lanka will need to regroup as another defeat can push them closer to elimination. Their fielding was a total mess tonight and that's an area of concern as is their fragile batting. Stay tuned as the presentation is coming up.
Fletcher's domination meant that the WIndies were untroubled despite the struggle of their other batsmen on this surface. Charles, Samuels and Ramdin got out cheaply but Russell gave good company to Fletcher as the two Andres saw the Windies home with 10 balls left in the game. Vandersay was the pick of the bowlers but didn't get enough support as the Lankan bowlers failed to create constant pressure. Sri Lanka have to thank Perera whose knock earlier the night gave them at least something to bowl at. Eventually, the score wasn't enough to stop the Windies.
A clinical chase from the Windies and it was basically a one-man show from Fletcher who smashed an unbeaten 84 on his return to the side. Promoted to open due to the injury to Gayle, the young man smashed the Sri Lankan bowling around with clinical precision. He did have his moments of luck but was brave to attack the spinners on a track that was a bit dry and slow unlike the usual Bengaluru surface.

SRI LANKA CANNOT CATCH ANYTHING! Full and outside off, Russell has a wild swing across the line but gets a thick slice high towards third man. Kulasekara was stationed there but makes a total mess of a simple chance. A single is taken. Boy, this is poor stuff from the Lankans. Just not their night.

SMART STUFF! Fires in a yorker on off, Fletcher digs it out as the ball rises off the bottom edge. Looked like it would head on to hit the stumps but he is aware enough and boots it away.
