None of Sri Lanka's bowlers created an impression as they failed to create consistent pressure on the SA batsmen. Thumping win for South Africa to end their 2016 World T20 campaign. Chasing a very modest 121 to win, they lost de Kock early to a horrible run out. However, Amla and du Plessis stitched a steady partnership to put the result beyond doubt. Although the SA skipper departed to a debatable lbw decision, Amla motored on to his 5th T20I fifty while also completing 1000 runs in the shortest format. de Villiers joined him as the pair finished off the game with 14 balls left.
