That's the end of our coverage of this match. The second game of today's double-header isn't far away. 2012 World T20 finalists West Indies and Sri Lanka will face each other in Bengaluru at 1930 IST. Do join us for that match on this Super Sunday.
ASGHAR STANIKZAI feels that the total was too high. Says that they tried hard and that the track was really good for batting. But states that it was tough against a good and experienced attack. Lauds Shahzad for giving the start which gave his team a solid chance but opined that losing wickets at wrong periods cost his team the game. Feels that his side has fought really well and hopes to take the positives for the remaining matches. Also hopes that his side can continue to play good cricket.
FAF DU PLESSIS says that he did feel a deja vu of the previous match when Shahzad was hitting the ball really well. Says that they weren't getting any ideas on how to stop him. Feels that they needed someone to stand up and credits Morris for stepping up. Admits that the pacers have to show aggression and feels that it is something his side lacked earlier on. Feels that there is a lot to learn as a side. Ends by saying that there is lot of work to be done heading into the coming games. Concludes by saying that he hopes South Africa can be smarter in adapting to different tracks.
CHRIS MORRIS (MAN OF THE MATCH) says that he is very happy to do well with the ball on such a pitch. Adds that the team's win is more important for him. Feels that the track was a bit similar to the Wanderers with the even pace and bounce. States that he is happy to have bowled well and says that he just stuck to the basics. Says that it is a batter's game and ends by saying that he is glad with the way he bowled. Adapting to the surfaces in the next matches will be a challenge according to Morris but maintains that SA are up for the challenge.
Chris Morris was the man who brought SA back into the game with the wicket of Shahzad. With a 4-fer, he was also easily the pick of the bowlers along with the wily Tahir. Rest of the bowlers got the stick as none of them were able to create constant pressure. At the end, Abbott and Rabada got a few wickets but they owed it to the pressure created by Morris and Tahir. Earlier in the day, AB's blitzkrieg coupled with fireworks from de Kock, Faf and Duminy pushed SA well past the 200-run mark. The total just proved too much for Afghanistan who nevertheless put up a spirited chase.
So, a comfortable win in the end for South Africa after surviving a real scare from the Afghans for a major part of the chase. In pursuit of a mammoth 210 to win, Shahzad took Afghanistan off to a blistering start in the Powerplay overs. His knock gave belief to his side as they kept going at the target with positive intent. Naib and Shenwari played breezy knocks but neither could bat on for a longer period. Noor Ali held one end up for a while but couldn't push the scoring rate further.

Chris Morris To Dawlat Zadran OUT!
OUT! KNOCKED HIM OVER! Full and angled in on middle and off, Dawlat was well across the stumps to scoop but misses. It was on target and that makes a mess of the stumps with the middle stick ripped out. Take a bow Morris. 4-0-27-4, brilliant figures given the context of this pitch.

Kyle Abbott To Samiullah Shinwari OUT!
OUT! GOT HIM! Low full toss around off, Shenwari goes across to paddle it and gets a slice high to short third man where Wiese takes an easy catch. That probably could be the game for South Africa as Shenwari was the last specialist Afghanistan batsman left.
