Right then. That’s it from the coverage of this game. For now, Australia has moved to the top of the table. The action of the Women’s World Cup, 2022 will continue on 14th March. There are two games coming your way. First It will be a contest between Pakistan Women and Bangladesh Women and then the big one, England will be taking on South Africa. The action begins at 3.30 am IST (10 pm GMT, previous day). But as always, the build-up will begin in advance. See you then. Cheers!
Meg Lanning, the winning skipper, says they have a lot of depth in their batting and that is the beauty of the batting line up. Mentions Gardner’s innings turned the momentum and they looked to get the big wickets early on and they got it. Adds that they felt Darcie Brown with the new ball was the way to go and Megan Schutt with her cutters later on would have been more affective. Ends by saying they were looking to be aggressive with the ball earlier on.
Sophie Devine, the New Zealand Women skipper, says the way Australia came back showed the quality in their side. Adds Gardner played really well and she hit with the wind and it was going to be tough with the wind. Mentions 250-260 is par but the wicket here is good and had they kept wickets in hand, they could have chased it down. Mentions Amy Satterthwaite batted well, they could have taken time and then cashed in but could not do so. Ends by saying they now have a day off and are looking forward for the next game which is a huge game for them.
Ellyse Perry is the Player of the Match. She says it was good to re-build with Mooney and then the way Tahila and Gardner played was great. Mentions it was good to spend time in the middle, she felt it was a good wicket but the Kiwis bowled well but Tahila and Gardner finished well. States she was bowling into the breeze as she thought it would swing and Brown was really good and got important wickets. Informs she has been working on her bowling and it has come off good and all the bowlers bowled well.
Stay tuned for presentation ceremony...
It was a sorry display with the bat by the Kiwis. Yes, 270 was never going to be easy but they just surrendered. Only Amy Satterthwaite hung in there and played a good knock. Lea Tahuhu did have some fun towards the end but overall it was a disappointing display from them. They have been beaten quite comprehensively.
First they recovered from 3 down for below 60 to get to 270 and then it was their bowlers who put up a terrific display. It was Ellyse Perry who started things off by getting Sophie Devine but it was actually the Darcie Brown show. She ripped through the Kiwi batting line up taking three big wickets. The others too managed to take a wicket at least. A very clinical show with the ball.
A thumping win for Australia. The Kiwis were just no match and Australia continue to prove they are class apart. Third won for them on the trot and they have won this game by 141 runs which will do their NRR world of good for them. They regain the top spot in the points table as well.

Ashleigh Gardner To Lea Tahuhu OUT!
OUT! TAKEN! Ashleigh Gardner with a sizzling knock earlier and now finishes the proceedings here. Loopy ball, on middle. Lea Tahuhu goes for the slog sweep. Connects it well but couldn't get the distance. The ball goes straight down the throat of the deep mid-wicket fielder where Beth Mooney snaffles it up. New Zealand Women are bundled out for 128. Australia Women bossed this game and they win by a huge margin of 141 runs!
