Mitchell Santner, the New Zealand skipper,  says that the crowd got their money's worth, but it was a scrappy win. Adds that there were many contributions from different players, but there are still areas to improve. Mentions that they should have got 190, but also credits his bowlers for the way they defended the total. Santner praised Kyle Jamieson for getting them over the line in back-to-back games and says that he has a lot of experience that helps the team.  Mitchell Santner ended by saying that they are now looking forward to the next one.
West Indies captain Shai Hope praised his team's effort, stating they were always in the contest despite falling short. He lauded Shamar Springer, known for his expertise in the death overs, for using his power effectively alongside Romario Shepherd, and highlighted the positives from the match despite the loss.

Earlier, New Zealand's innings ended with 177. The West Indies' bowlers staged a stunning comeback in the second half, undoing the Kiwi top order's strong start. Devon Conway struck form, scoring his 12th T20I fifty, and stitched a 47-run opening stand with Tim Robinson. Rachin Ravindra added 50 runs for the 2nd wicket with Conway, but wickets fell regularly thereafter, with Daryl Mitchell's 41 unable to rescue the innings. Jason Holder and Matthew Forde took two wickets each, while Shamar Springer and Romario Shepherd also chipped in, as the West Indies' pace attack bowled brilliantly to restrict New Zealand.
New Zealand's bowling onslaught initially left the West Indies reeling at 88/8, but a thrilling partnership between Shamar Springer and Romario Shepherd turned the tide. The Kiwis' bowlers rallied, with Duffy and Sodhi claiming three wickets each, while Kyle Jamieson, Michael Bracewell, and Mitchell Santner chipped in, securing a narrow 9-run victory in a nail-biting finish.
The West Indies' chase got off to a promising start, but they struggled to build momentum, losing wickets regularly and finding themselves 88 for 8 in the 13th over. However, a remarkable 9th-wicket partnership of 78 runs between Romario Shepherd and Shamar Springer put them back in contention. Ultimately, a crucial catch by Jacob Duffy swung the game in New Zealand's favor, securing a 9-run victory. Romario Shepherd top-scored with 49 and Shamar Springer batted well too for his knock of 39 off just 20.
