So, that is it from this game. Bangladesh taken on India in the finals on 9th February 2020. On the other end, New Zealand take Pakistan on for the 3rd place playoffs. On 7th February 2020, Australia take on West Indies for the 5th place playoffs. That game begins at 1000 local ( 0800 GMT). Till then take care and cheers!
Bangladesh skipper, Akbar Ali says the bowlers did a very good job in restricting them and the batters built partnership which was necessary. Says the spinners were bowling well and they had a plan against New Zealand. On Hasan Joy, Ali says he is exceptional and the hard work they put in the nets has paid off. Further adds that it is a treat to watch him bat. On playing their first ever Under-19 Finals, Akbar say that they will play the Finals as a normal game and not take any pressure. Adds India is a top side and they need to bring their A game. Tell Bangladesh fans are passionate and he hopes that they keep supporting them.
New Zealand skipper, Jesse Tashkoff admits it was a tough toss to lose and credits the Bangladesh bowlers for the way they played. Adds there was moisture earlier on and the sun later in the day made it easy to bat. Tells it was tough to adjust to batting first for the first time in the tournament but adds they did well to get in the position after the situation they found themselves in. Praises Beckham Wheeler-Greenall for the innings he played and for the attitude he showed. Adds he is proud of his boys and says they are now looking to win the game against Pakistan and finish the tournament on a high. Ends by thanking the fans for their support throughout the tournament.
For his match winning century, Mahmudul Hasan Joy is named the Man of the Match. Hasan Joy says he was just looking to rotate the strike as his role is to bat till the end. Says last time he missed on a century against New Zealand but this time he was not going to miss that. Tells he is feeling very good and thanks the Almighty.
Earlier in the day after losing the toss, New Zealand struggled to get going and it looked like they would not be able to get to 180 but Beckham Wheeler-Greenall's unbeaten 75 took them to a decent total of 211. Shoriful Islam and Hasan Murad were the tormentor-in-chief as they picked up 5 wickets amongst themselves with the former picking up 3.
A tough day, a day of despair for the Kiwis. Once again it is the semi-finals stage that they have faltered. It was a tough day with the ball for the Kiwis. They needed wickets at regular intervals but apart from the start they could not manage to do it in the middle. They came up against a young sensation who was just not going to back down and the Kiwis had no answer to that Bangla Tiger. The bowlers though bowled their hearts out but the runs on the board were not enough for them to defend. 4 off the 6 bowlers used got into the wickets column but all of them had just one each and that was not good enough on the day. New Zealand won't play India in the finals but they will meet their neighbors Pakistan for the 3rd Place Playoff game.
Chasing 212, Bangladesh got off to a poor start losing 2 early wickets. After that what we saw was just brilliance. Mahmudul Hasan Joy first steadied the ship with Towhid Hridoy. The duo added 68 before Hridoy departed. Hasan Joy then took control of the game and showed all of us a masterclass in batting. He played the role of aggressor and stitched a 101-run stand with Shahadat Hossain, getting to his century in the process. He was not able to finish the game for his side but he dragged them inches towards the finish line. The skipper and Hossain sprayed the sprinkles on top of the cake as the Bangla Tigers roared into the Under-19 World Cup Finals.
Bangladesh have done it. The Bangladesh players are running in joy and the reason for that is Mahmudul Hasan Joy. Remember the name. He has single-handedly played a supreme knock under pressure and has taken his country to its first ever World Cup final. It is going to be an all Asian affair in the finals on Sunday here at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.

FOUR! Lucky there. Clarke bowls one on off, and gets the ball to come into the right-hander. Shahadat just crouches a bit there and upper cuts it. The ball just about evades the leaping keeper to his right. It goes to the third man fence for a boundary.
Akbar Ali, the skipper is the new man in.

Jesse Tashkoff To Mahmudul Hasan Joy OUT!
OUT! Caught and bowled! End of a fabulous innings from Hasan Joy. He won't be able to win it for the side but he has brought them extremely close to the finish line. He walks off to a huge applause from the crowd and also the New Zealand players are applauding his effort. The New Zealand skipper has something to smile about. Tossed up on middle, Hasan Joy looks to drive it straight but does so uppishly and ends up hitting it straight back to Tashkoff who takes the catch. End of a glorious knock from him and he will remember this forever.
