Another one-sided contest we just witnessed. The action now moves to Jaipur where Rajasthan will host Kolkata on 18th April at 2000 IST (1430 GMT). Do join us for all the action and let's hope for a close game. Cheers!
Rohit Sharma bags the Man of the Match award for his stupendous knock. When he came at the crease, Mumbai were 0/2 but the skipper took things under control and not only bailed his side out but powered them to a massive total. A word of praise for Virat Kohli also, who remained unbeaten on 92 and had he received some help from other Bangalore batsmen, the result could have been different.
When chasing a big total, you need an excellent beginning. Bangalore though lost their two premium batsmen, Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers inside the Powerplay. From there onward, it was a struggle for them. Although skipper Virat Kohli kept scoring from one end, he failed to receive any support from the other end. Mayank Markande and Krunal Pandya were neat with their spells, not allowing any easy runs and the latter bagged a 3-wicket haul. Altogether, a great team effort by Mumbai and they have opened their account with a comprehensive win, their fifth in a row against Bangalore.
Massive win for Mumbai and they are finally off the mark this season. A victory nicely set up by their batsmen. Powered by Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis' knock, they posted a gigantic total on the board and then their bowlers finally showed up and defended the total on the fourth attempt. Rohit Sharma looks a happy man and the Mumbai dugout is delighted. Hugs and high-fives all around.

The 100 looks farfetched now! He needs 8 from 1 as this is a dot ball. A short ball on middle, Kohli mistimes his pull towards long on and turns down the single.

Length ball, Kohli hits it over covers and gets two. A brace to start the last over. Not enough, not even six maximums would be enough.

Comes down the track and McClenaghan bangs it short on middle. Kohli slaps it towards cover and sets off for a run. Hardik Pandya there has a shy and misses. There is no one backing up and the batsmen take an overthrow. Don't think though these extra runs will harm Mumbai.
