The Wankhede witnessed its team pulling off a super win and staying alive in the competition. The table looks quite interesting now, with Mumbai, Rajasthan and Punjab all on 12 points, but the hosts of tonight moving to 4th place due to the NRR. All becoming real intriguing now. On the 18th, already qualified Hyderabad go on the road to face Bangalore and the action begins at 2000 local (1430 GMT). Join in for all the action. Cheers!
Jasprit Bumrah receives the Man of the Match award. His spell in the death, where he took 3 wickets in two overs, including the likes of Aaron Finch and KL Rahul, was the turning point in the outcome of the game.
The Mumbai bowlers did decently overall, but they were never really on top, well, till Jasprit Bumrah decided to bump things up a notch. Showed why he's considered the best death bowler in the world when he got rid of Finch and Stoinis in the 17th over itself. That swung the momentum in his side's over. And if that wasn't enough, he dismissed Rahul in his next over. That effectively won his team the game and McClenaghan cleaned up after him. Mumbai kept it close, but they live to fight another day. Earlier in the evening, Mumbai powered to a good score courtesy a fifty from Kieron Pollard and a sensible supporting role from Krunal Pandya. It was enough to get the two points.
A sigh of relief from Rohit Sharma after that final ball should tell you just how much this victory means to him and his side. It wasn't an easy one by any means. With 187 to gun down, Rahul and Gayle provided a brisk start before the latter departed. Though, post that, Rahul and Finch took up the mantle and scored a century stand to be in control of the chase. Wickets just fell towards the end at the wrong time and it all fell apart. KL Rahul is an unfortunate man though. Once again, he stayed there almost till the end and fell 6 short of what would have been a well-deserved ton. Surely would have liked to finish things off.

4
Mitchell McClenaghan To Manoj Tiwary
FOUR! Tiwary scores a boundary off the final ball but it doesn't matter. He swivels across and pulls it across the deep backward square leg fence. MUMBAI WIN BY 3 RUNS!
19.5
b
Mitchell McClenaghan To Axar Patel
Safe! A legal delivery now and Mumbai win. Good bowling. McClenaghan bangs it short outside off, Axar fails to connect and both batsmen set off as the keeper throws it at the stumps at his end. Misses, the bowler takes it and does the smart thing by not throwing it. Takes the bails off by jogging to the stumps, replays show Axar is safe but more importantly, no extra run conceded.
A run out appeal against Axar Patel is referred upstairs.

6
Mitchell McClenaghan To Axar Patel
SIX! Axar Patel with a beauty! Still a twist left in this entertaining tale? Full toss and he smokes this over wide long on to clear the rope.
Manoj Tiwary to bat next.

W
Mitchell McClenaghan To Yuvraj Singh OUT!
OUT! Yuvraj holes out! McClenaghan gets the breakthrough! Angles across a full ball outside off, Yuvraj lofts it over covers but doesn't get the desired connection. Off the outer half and it's straight into the safe hands of Evin Lewis in the deep. 15 needed off 3 balls.
19.3
wd
Mitchell McClenaghan To Yuvraj Singh
Wide! Called a wide this time. Yuvraj doesn't move unless his partner and McClenaghan serves it well outside off. Across the tramline and that's a wide.

Mitchell McClenaghan To Yuvraj Singh
Swing and a miss! Should have put that away, was right in the slot. Fuller ball going across, around off, Yuvraj swings hard across the line, only to connect with thin air.

b
Mitchell McClenaghan To Axar Patel
Very well bowled. The Kiwi comes from around the wicket and fires it full and across Axar Patel. He moves a step across, gets low to slog it but misses. They steal a bye but it's not a wide. So that's the important bit for Mumbai.
Mitchell McClenaghan to bowl the final over. He has 16 to defend.

Just the single. What an over. What a spell. Fires it full and Axar drives it to long off for a single. 6 runs and the all-important wicket off it.

Jasprit Bumrah To Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj gets off the mark by working it on the leg side for a single.

Jasprit Bumrah To Axar Patel
Full toss on the stumps, Patel mistimes it towards wide long off for a single.
Yuvraj Singh is next in.

W
Jasprit Bumrah To Lokesh Rahul OUT!
OUT! Is that the match? Is this where Mumbai clinch it? Oh, boy! So sad for Rahul, misses out on a ton yet again. Wasn't to be. Full outside off, it's the cutter which becomes his undoing as he lofts it without perfect timing. Straight into the hands of Ben Cutting at wide long off who makes no mistake in taking it.

1
Jasprit Bumrah To Axar Patel
Another attempted yorker, but it's taken on the full. Axar can only hit it down to long on for a single.

Pinpoint yorker at the base of off stump, Rahul drills it through mid off and gets off strike.

Yorker on off, drilled through to sweeper cover for a single. Massive over for the visitors, 15 runs from it. 23 from 12 now. The game is back on!

4
Ben Cutting To Lokesh Rahul
FOUR! Three in a row! Moves to 92 with that. This is unreal stuff from the opener. Slower and a touch shorter outside off, Rahul gets into position quickly again, brings out the reverse paddle and clears the keeper's head. It runs away to the fence behind.

Ben Cutting To Lokesh Rahul
FOUR! Magnificent batting! Superb. But it's aided by some poor bowling from Cutting. Hurls it well outside off, Rahul positions himself early and reverse paddles it over short third man for a boundary.
17.3
4
Ben Cutting To Lokesh Rahul
FOUR! Rahul keeps the fight going on! Short ball on middle and leg, he swivels and pulls it powerfully over backward square leg for a boundary.
17.2
1
Ben Cutting To Axar Patel
It's fallen safely! Axar Patel survives. Short of a length ball in line of the stumps, the southpaw pulls it over mid-wicket. No timing on it at all, which probably saves him. Falls well short of Rohit Sharma running in from the deep. Single taken.

Ben Cutting To Lokesh Rahul
Shortish delivery outside off, Rahul steps out and reaches for it. Pushes to deep mid off for a single.
Ben Cutting brought on to bowl.
