That completes our formalities of this game. Pune are on a roll now and have moved to third spot. What a turnaround it has been, after losing three of their first four games. Kolkata hold on to their second spot and will want to bounce back after two successive defeats. Hope you enjoyed all the action. Join us tomorrow for more Indian T20 League action as Delhi host Gujarat. The action starts at 2000 local (1430 GMT). Till then, it's goodbye from us.
Rahul Tripathi (Man of the Match) says that he enjoyed his batting today. Adds that he was getting starts in the tournament but wasn't able to convert them. States that he is trying to just middle the ball and says that he is happy to contribute. Opines that keeping it simple is helping him.
Steven Smith says that it has been good run for them, six wins out of their last seven. Sings praises of Tripathi. Credits the bowlers for their performance. Adds that everyone's contributing well and it's good to get some momentum going. Opines that staying consistent and doing the basics really well is the mantra to go forward. Feels sad for Tripathi not getting to his ton. Ends by hoping that they record a few more wins come the playoffs.
Gautam Gambhir says that it's a long tournament and injuries are part and parcel of it. Feels that it gives opportunities to others. Adds that one can't get comfortable till they have sealed their place for the playoffs. Says that they played some decent cricket but feels they should have got 180 odd. Praises Tripathi for taking the game away from them. Informs being positive and sensible is the key of setting up big targets. Ends by saying that they need to pull up their socks in their remaining three games.
Kolkata never really had enough runs on the board although the total was a fighting one. However, Tripathi's blitzkrieg deflated the hosts and they never really recovered from it. Woakes had a brilliant outing with the ball and his strikes did generate a bit of interest in the game while Kuldeep was tidy towards the end. However, they were probably just 15 runs short at the break and it came down to that margin eventually.
Fairly comfortable win for Pune. It did get a bit too close for comfort but they managed to get across the line with ease eventually. Tripathi's one-man show shouldered the run chase completely as he waded into the Kolkata bowling with no mercy whatsoever. He was absolutely exceptional and the fact that the next highest score was 14 sums up the story. A cluster of wickets did make things interesting for the viewers but Pune were always ahead and Christian sealed it with a biggie.

SIX! CHRISTIAN FINISHES IT OFF! Second time in as many games that the Aussie all-rounder has ended things with a bang. Shortish in length and he holds his shape to nail the pull comfortably over deep mid-wicket for a maximum. PUNE WIN BY 4 WICKETS.

Chris Woakes To Washington Sundar
Leg bye! They've stolen a leg bye and Gambhir isn't amused at all. Sundar fails to connect the flick as the ball goes down the leg side to Jackson. They appeal for a catch but not given. Probably brushed the pad and so no wide as well. Unwanted throw from the keeper allows a run eventually.

Chris Woakes To Rahul Tripathi OUT!
OUT! TRIPATHI HAS TO GO! Is there a twist in this game? Doesn't seem like there is scope for it but another wicket right away and you never know! Slower bouncer and he mistimes the pull towards mid-wicket. An incredible knock comes to an end, it's been a spectacular show today from the young man. The substitute Rovman Powell takes a fine diving catch to his right. 6 needed from 8 now.

Kuldeep Yadav To MS Dhoni OUT!
OUT! Dhoni departs! It's the second time Kuldeep has got the ex-Pune captain and both to googlies. Dhoni presses forward to push at it but gets a feather that is well taken by Jackson. Nice catching and MS doesn't even wait for the umpire to raise his finger. Kolkata just stalling the winning formalities here for a while longer.
