Right then, that’s a wrap from this battle of the rivals, where India Women extended their unbeaten streak in this format against Pakistan Women, who are still waiting for their first win of the tournament. The ICC Women’s World Cup action rolls on, with South Africa Women facing New Zealand Women on 6th October, Monday, at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, India. The first ball will be bowled at 9.30 am GMT, and as always, you can join us earlier for all the build-up. Until then, it’s goodbye and take care!
Harmanpreet Kaur, the victorious skipper of India Women, says that she is very happy with her team's performance. She says that Kranti Gaud bowled really well. She also adds that they misses a lot of catching opportunities but she is happy to get the win. Adds that in the first inning they were keeping the wickets in hand cause and in the death over Richa Ghosh did good job to get those extra 30 runs. Ends up saying that they will move to their country now and will work on best combination so that they can improve day by day.
Fatima Sana, the captain of Pakistan Women, says that they have away too many runs in the Powerplay and at the death. Adds that when she bowled, it was seaming but Diana Baig got a bit confused whether it was seam or swing. Mentions that if they restricted India under 200, they would have had a chance. Says that they have a good batting unit but needs to back themselves and they need long partnerships. Ends by saying that Sidra Amin has been working hard and it is paying off now.
Kranti Gaud is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her amazing bowling performance. She expressed her joy at receiving the award on such a big stage. She revealed that after taking her second wicket, she requested a second slip and got another crucial wicket, which is why she was gesturing to her skipper that her plan had worked. She proudly mentioned that her village was watching the match on a big screen, making the moment even more special. She ended by thanking her coach, from whom she's learning a lot, and appreciating his guidance.
Presentation Time...
As Jemimah Rodrigues said at the mid-innings break, this wicket favored the Indian bowlers, and they delivered. Kranti Gaud and Renuka Singh Thakur troubled the batters with the new ball, with Kranti picking up early breakthroughs. In the middle overs, the spinners controlled the game, and although Pakistan had one significant partnership, run-scoring remained tough. Deepti Sharma took a brilliant three wickets, Sneh Rana got two, and Harmanpreet Kaur effected a sharp run-out. Fielding remains the only area for improvement, but overall India looked like a formidable unit.
Earlier in the game, India Women put up a competitive total earlier in the game, with several batters getting starts but none managing to push on to a big score. Harleen Deol was the top-scorer with 46, while Richa Ghosh provided the late flourish, smashing a brisk 35 that gave the innings momentum at the death. For Pakistan Women, Diana Baig stood out with an excellent four-wicket haul, while Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana picked up two apiece. Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu also chipped in with a wicket each.
Pakistan Women began the chase frantically and even had a few decisions go their way, but they couldn’t capitalize on them. Muneeba Ali’s run-out was surrounded by a bit of controversy, yet the rest of the batting unit also failed to make a real impact. The lone positive was Sidra Amin’s fine knock of 81, and her 69-run stand with Natalia Pervaiz was the only partnership of note. Beyond that, the scoreboard pressure kept mounting, and once Sidra Nawaz was dismissed, a dramatic collapse followed as they slid from 143/5 to 159 all out. Plenty of questions now await Pakistan after yet another disappointing batting effort.
India Women extend their dominance to 12-0 against Pakistan Women in WODIs! The co-hosts delivered another commanding performance, making it two wins on the trot, and the emphatic margin will do wonders for their NRR too. For Pakistan, batting once again proved to be their Achilles’ heel, as they are yet to cross the 200-run mark against India in this format - a stat that underlines just how one-sided this rivalry has been over the years.

Deepti Sharma To Sadia Iqbal OUT!
OUT! IN THE AIR... TAKEN! Done and dusted! Deepti Sharma bowls fuller, and just outside off. Sadia Iqbal clears her front foot to slog it, but fails to get the perfect timing on the shot. The ball loops toward the wide deep long on fielder. Smriti Mandhana is the fielder in charge, who backtracks, gets under the skier, and reverse cups it into her palm. India Women wins the encounter by 88 runs and surely it will give a major boost in the run rate for the points table.

OUT! RUN OUT! Another one bites the dust! India Women closing in on another big win here! Deepti Sharma floats it up, full and on middle, Diana Baig drills it to wide mid on and sets off for the run. Harmanpreet Kaur is quick to the ball, picks up, aims and hits bullseye at the bowler's end. Baig is not even in the frame and her bat also gets stuck on the ground but it does not matter anyway. Pakistan Women are 158/9 now!
