The ODI series trophy is handed to Kohli and the Indians assemble for the customary photoshoot. A thrilling series ends but these two sides will compete in the shortest format soon. The first T20I of the 3-match series will be held in Kanpur on January 26. It will be an early start as the match will begin at 1630 local, 1100 GMT. Do join us for that one. Until next time, it's goodbye from us. Cheers!
VIRAT KOHLI says that it's been a terrific series and feels that there have been several positives for the Indian team. Says that the team has shown character in tough situations throughout the series, singles out Jadhav and Pandya today. States that the former is a big find for sure and also says that Hardik is showing promise as the all-rounder. Adds that the surface provided his team the perfect platform to prepare for the Champions Trophy. Hopes that his bowlers can learn to adapt to overseas conditions when they head to England for the Champions Trophy in June.
EOIN MORGAN is relieved at salvaging some pride. Feels that it's been a very competitive series and admits that it took a lot of hard work to seal the win today. He is happy that his side managed to come back hard despite being 2-0 down. Says that the pitch looked more an English surface than Indian. Credits his openers for giving a good start and also praises his bowlers for doing well. Appreciates Woakes' temperament in the final over. Ends by saying that there were several positives for England despite losing the series.
KEDAR JADHAV (MAN OF THE SERIES) says that the idea for the final over was to play all the balls himself. Feels that he lost his balance on the lofted stroke and that cost him his wicket. Lauds Dhoni for influencing his attitude under pressure. Feels that there was some movement on the pitch for the fuller ball and says that dew helped the batsmen later on. Says that he has taken the challenge of finishing games and expresses happiness at it. States that he is happy at his MoS performance but is disappointed at losing the game.
BEN STOKES (MAN OF THE MATCH) says that he is happy at a good result at this venue after the horror experience in the previous game (WT20 final 2016). Says that he was looking to get his eye in while batting as it wasn't an easy track to start playing shots. Opines that he and Woakes were able to add valuable runs at the death. Adds that it has been a great series with lot of runs from both sides and expresses happiness at England salvaging a consolation win.
Unlike the previous two matches, this pitch did have a bit in it, especially for the pacers. England did well to post a challenging total that was propelled by a Stokes special as he carted a fifty while Woakes too stroked a valuable cameo. This was after England had messed up a solid platform provided by the top four with Roy and Bairstow scoring fifties. Eventually, every run mattered as it got down to the wire.
Pandya's dismissal swung the pendulum as England sneaked back into the game with regular wickets. With 16 needed off 6 balls, Jadhav clubbed a six and a four off the first two balls to thrill the crowd but Woakes held his nerve brilliantly to close out the game. Ball was the pick of the bowlers while Stokes also did well to pick crucial wickets. Woakes was expensive but eventually bowled the vital final over well to see his side through. This is their first ever ODI win at the Eden.
Another thrilling game and this time England found themselves on the right side of the result to notch up their first International win on their tour of India. Chasing a challenging 322 to win, India's openers failed once again and Kohli too couldn't convert a start after being dropped once. Yuvraj and Dhoni also failed to kick on after starts, leaving India in a dicey situation. However, Jadhav rose to the occasion and with Pandya, stitched a fantastic century stand to bring the hosts back in the game.

OUT! JADHAV HOLES OUT! There's a massive silence at the Eden. You can hear a pin drop now. Slower and fuller outside off, Jadhav goes for the loft over cover but doesn't get the distance on the stroke. Finds Billings near the ropes to perfection. Terrific innings comes to an end but he will be gutted at not finishing off things.
