Right then, that's all from this game and this draws curtains over the group stage action at the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. Due to this result in the final game of Group A, Ireland have confirmed their spot in the Super Six and they will go in as the third-ranked team of the group. We will have a day's break now before the action resumes with the start of the Super Six round of the competition. The Super Six action kicks off on Tuesday, 30th January when India will lock horns with New Zealand, Pakistan will face Ireland and West Indies will be up against Sri Lanka. All three games will begin at 1.30 pm GMT (8.00 am GMT), but our build-up will begin much sooner. Until then, take care and goodbye!
The winning skipper of India Under-19, Uday Saharan, says he is really satisfied with his team's effort. He continues that his team has adapted the venue where they are going to play their Super Six matches and they would have a slight advantage. He is also happy that his all top four batters are in good form. He ends up stating that he has full confidence in his team to defend the title.
The captain of USA Under-19, Rishi Ramesh starts by giving credit to the Indian batters for the way they batted. Reckons that they should have picked a few wickets during the middle phase to contain them. States that they are not the type of batters who can attack from ball one and they need to take their time. Feels that it is good to get this type of experience. Ends by thanking the families for their support.
Arshin Kulkarni is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant century. He says that it's a special moment for him as his parents are in the stadium watching him play. He continues that it is a bit difficult to bat at the start of the day as the ball moves in the air and off the surface as well but after some time it's easy to bat on. He also stated that he tries his level best to contribute as much as he can to the team. Ends by saying the sweep which he played against the left-arm pace bowler is his favourite of all sixes.
Time for the presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, after being put into bat, it was a respectful start from the two Indian openers. Adarsh Singh looked to be in great touch but failed to find the gaps, while it was a real struggle for Arshin Kulkarni. After Adarsh fell, Musheer Khan came in and began to build the innings alongside Arshin. As the innings progressed, both batters grew in confidence and found boundaries at will. Having been dropped on 16, Arshin made the USA pay for it with a brilliant ton whereas Musheer got out on 73. Handy contributions from Uday Saharan, Priyanshu Moliya, and Sachin Dhas propelled India to 326. For the USA Under-19, Ateendra Subramanian was their most economical bowler and had two wickets to his name.
As for the USA Under-19, they will take heart from the fact that they were able to bat out the full quota of 50 overs against the strong Indian bowling unit. Chasing 327 runs was in itself a tall ask but they had to get those in 17.1 overs for a Super Six berth which was a bridge too far. They were rocked early as they lost three wickets inside the first three overs. Siddarth Kappa and Utkarsh Srivastava got together to ensure that the USA did not lose any more wickets in the first Powerplay. Kappa ran out of patience and Utkarsh followed suit a few overs later. The USA then began to lose wickets at regular intervals but Amogh Arepally held firm at one end. Coming in at number 9, Aarin Nadkarni made a case for a promotion in the batting order with a few lusty blows. To be honest, USA Under-19 never committed to the chase and were content in blocking it out for almost the entirety of their batting effort. With this defeat, USA Under-19 will finish at the bottom in Group A and will now feature in the playoff classification matches.
And just like that, India Under-19 make it three wins out of three to go into the Super Six as the top-ranked team of Group A! They were the favourites coming into this game, and they lived up to the tag to seal a win by 201 runs! With the new ball, Naman Tiwary picked up where he left off in the last game with a couple of wickets up front, and he was well supported by Raj Limbani. In the middle phase, they faced stiff resistance from the USA batters but the spinners made sure that they did not leak boundaries. As many as eight bowlers were used by Uday Saharan and they were pretty tidy except for that one over from Priyanshu Moliya where he was hit for two sixes. Brought back into the attack, Naman Tiwari made Utkarsh Srivastava his fourth victim and tried hard for the fifth wicket but it wasn't to be. Saumy Pandey, Murugan Abhishek, Priyanshu Moliya and Raj Limbani took a wicket apiece.

Saumy Pandey To Aarin Nadkarni OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! End of Aarin Nadkarni's fun with the bat! This one is fuller on leg. Aarin Nadkarni tries to go big down the ground and swings through the line. He gets rushed in his shot and fails to get the desired connection. He miscues the shot and ends up lobbing it towards the mid on fielder. Raj Limbani back pedals and settles under it to take it with his fingers pointing upwards.
