Man of the Match, Shreyas Iyer says that he is disappointed for not finishing the game. Adds that he wasn't thinking of the personal milestone and just wanted to take his team through. Mentions that he was just trying to time the ball, push it in the gaps and score odd boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking. Hopes to win more such awards in the coming games.

Zaheer Khan says that they had so many close games and it feels good to be on the right side of the result. Says that being out of the tournament, their energy was low. Credits Shreyas Iyer for his outstanding innings. Feels if they had won the earlier close games, things would have been different but they need to take such losses in their stride. Adds that they would learn from their mistakes and will try to win the remaining two games to take the confidence in the next season. Mentions that when their batting was clicking, their bowling wasn't and vice versa. Adds that the Indian T20 League is a hectic tournament and momentum is very important in it.

Shreyas Iyer played a blinder. He smacked the insipid Gujarat bowling attack to all parts and took Delhi at the doorstep of victory. Pat Cummins gave him good support as well and should be praised for his sensible batting. With 9 needed to win off the last over, Basil Thampi cleaned up Iyer, thereby reigniting hope in the Gujarat camp. But Delhi found an unlikely hero in Amit Mishra, who hit back-to-back boundaries to earn a thrilling win. It was fielding that had brought the home side back in the game and eventually it was the same that let them down.

Brilliant win for Delhi! It was an action-packed run chase with the pendulum swinging both ways. Karun Nair provided a quickfire start in spite of losing Sanju Samson cheaply. Some inspirational fielding by Gujarat saw Delhi lose three middle order wickets via run outs and that pushed them on the back foot. But, Shreyas Iyer at another end was determined to take his side through.
