Right then! 16 to Chennai, 14 to Mumbai. Both are almost there in the playoffs. It was a poor evening for Chennai and they will look to bounce back from this one and seal their place in the final four. We now approach the weekend and on a rare occasion, there is just one game. Rajasthan host Hyderabad in Jaipur and match number 45 begins at 8 pm local (1430 GMT). ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Victorious Mumbai skipper ROHIT SHARMA HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Now, he smiles and says that in hindsight, it was better that Mumbai lost the toss, as he was looking to chase. But then, he stresses that games are not won based on tosses and you have to bowl or bat well irrespective of the situation. Praises his bowling unit for this resounding win. On Rahul Chahar, Sharma says that the leggie knows what he exactly needs to do and is very clear in his mind, being confident as well, which makes it easier for him as a captain. On his first half century this season, Rohit says that it is pleasing but adds that he had been hitting the ball well in the previous games and hence, he believed that one day, he will get a decent score. Admits that Dhoni's absence is a big boost to the opposition because he has been around for so many years taking Chennai out of a hole many a time. Smiles sheepishly and says that his sickness is uncontrollable and lauds his team. Does not want to take anything for granted and says that Mumbai are still not into the playoffs as yet. Adds that they have three games coming up - two at home against Kolkata and Hyderabad and one at Eden Gardens against Kolkata again. Wants to make use of those home games and seal their place in the final four.
Krunal Pandya gives a quick interview. Says that the pitch was on the slower side and he just wanted to bowl in the right areas. States that when the pitch is helping you, as a bowler you just need to hit the right areas. On being asked whether he wanted to bowl his fourth over, Krunal tells that he wanted to but eventually what matters is team winning and we got that. On his batting, Pandya replies that they have wickets in hand and he thought to go after the bowlers to pressurize them but some days it pays off, some days it don't. Smiles and says that he would love to pack this wicket and take it to the Wankhede. Mentions that they now know the conditions and it will help them if they have to come here for the first qualifier.
Chennai skipper, Suresh Raina admits that they didn't bat well as they kept losing wickets and they have to take responsibility as a batting unit, given how well their bowlers have been performing. Says that 155 was chasable, rues the fact that they lost too many wickets in the Powerplay and didn't rotate the strike much. Is not happy with the batting as they have been losing a lot of wickets of late. Hopes to improve in future games. Mentions that they need to regroup and see what they can do. Wants his batsmen to be more relaxed in their approach and hopes that things will fall in place.
Sensational bowling performance from Mumbai. Malinga was expensive but picked up 4 wickets. Krunal and Bumrah - what a deadly combination - 6-0-17-4. Really broke the back of the home side. Their biggest defeat at home, their lowest home total as well. A night to forget...
5 batsmen from numbers 2 to 6 dismissed in single digits. Tells you what a poor batting performance it has been. At 66/6, it was virtually game over, with Vijay being the 6th casualty. Bravo and Santner tried to fight back a bit but that only delayed the inevitable. Eventually, the game was done and dusted in the 18th over.
Let us take all our focus to the toss. Should Raina have batted first? But then, even Rohit said that he wanted to chase. Perhaps because of the expected dew factor. But that never came. Mumbai huffed and puffed to 155 but Chennai could not even huff. They were choked right from the start and could never breathe.
No Dhoni, no Midas magic. That is what it seems looking at this Chennai side. Two matches without him, two big losses. This could be a massive dent in their confidence.

Lasith Malinga To Mitchell Santner OUT!
OUT! Game, set and match. Four-fer for Malinga and Chennai have been floored at home. A low full toss, Santner backs away and swings hard but cannot quite get underneath the ball. He ends up mistiming it to long on where Kieron Pollard completes the formalities. MUMBAI WIN BY 46 RUNS!

OUT! Caught! Sensational take from Krunal Pandya. Chennai lose their 8th. A short ball, outside off, Chahar pulls it over mid-wicket. Krunal Pandya comes running in, keeps his eyes on the ball and dives full length to take the catch.

STRATEGIC BREAK. 4 overs left. 3 wickets in hand. 57 runs needed. Chennai are on course for a massive defeat. They might do well to try and play out all the remaining balls and get to 125-130. Who knows, it might help them later on in the net run rate. Deepak Chahar is the new man in while Jasprit Bumrah is the changed bowler.

Lasith Malinga To Dwayne Bravo OUT!
OUT! Caught and bowled! Bravo departs and with that, possibly the last hope of the table-toppers. It has been a barricade of slower balls in this over from Malinga. He finally outsmarts his ex-Mumbai mate. Landed outside off, Dwayne is early into his flick and gets a leading edge behind. Malinga runs back and takes a simple catch.
