That's all we have from this game. The action between these two sides isn't over here. They will now lock horns for a 2-match T20I series starting from 15th of February at 1700 Local time (1100 GMT) at the same venue. Before we leave, just reminding you - there is a T20I game going on between Australia and England and then later in the evening, South Africa and India will clash for the 4th ODI. So suit up and tuck in there if you wish. Until then, goodbye and take care. Cheers!
The trophy is handed over to Chandimal who walks towards the stage and gives it to the youngsters. A lot of smiling faces and they thoroughly deserved this, especially with the drubbing they had got at the hands of the Indians recently. But all that is past, they have kicked off the new year with a bang. Were down and out at the start of the Tri-Nation Series but then came back in a stunning fashion to win it. And then have continued the winning momentum to have their hands on the Test series as well. Well played, Sri Lanka.
Victorious Lankan skipper, Dinesh Chandimal is all smiles. Starts saying both the games were a nightmare - first one for the bowlers, second for the batters. Is happy to come out on top here. Informs they knew they are going to get a turning track in the second Test but opines they had experienced spinners in their armory to counter it. Lauds Roshen Silva for the way he has put his hands up. Has a word for Akila Dananjaya who had a dream debut and thanks the support staff as well. Ends saying it was a collective team effort from everyone.
Man of the Match and Series, Roshen Silva, thanks the Almighty first and is happy that his side won the all-important toss. Feels the wicket was really difficult to bat on but he says he didn't think about that much and just played his natural game. Credits the lower-middle order (Lakmal, Herath and Dananjaya) to not gift its wickets away. States the players hung in out there and added crucial 20-30 runs with him which is gold on such a surface.
Bangladesh skipper, Mahmudullah is really disappointed with their batting effort. Adds they knew the pitch will force a result but rues to not give a fight. Further adds on such kind of pitches it's important to do well in the first innings which unfortunately they couldn't and that is where they lost the game. Praises his bowlers for the way they have bowled. Appreciates Mominul Haque and reckons he is a good player of spin. Ends by saying there are a lot of positives to take from this game and hopes they do well in future.
With over 5 sessions to go and the pitch starting to spit venom, the result was certain. Bangladesh needed 339 to win and had their backs firmly against the wall. Agreed, they were already under the pump but going down without a fight is something you don't expect from the team that has shown promising signs, especially at home in the recent past. Tough loss for Bangladesh but rejoice for Sri Lanka. Stick with us for the presentation...
In reply, Bangladesh got steamrolled at the blink of an eye. From 107/5, they got folded for a scanty 110. The fact that Mehidy Hasan remained unbeaten on 38, tells us how less their batters could contribute. Lakmal, yes, the pacer was the one to start the downfall and then Perera and Dananjaya took over. This gave Sri Lanka a massive 112-run lead and all they had to do was to stretch it like elastic. It wasn't a good show from their batsmen on a spinning surface but they managed to stand there for a while. Roshen Silva once again stole the show and marshalled the lower order, only to remain stranded on 70.
After a docile pitch in Chittagong where the game ended in a tame draw, the story was completely contrasting in Dhaka. Chandimal won the all-important toss but his batters could just amass 222 on the board, with Kusal Mendis and Roshen Silva scoring fifties. Abdur Razzak, the comeback man, was the star for the hosts as he ran through the Lankan batting line-up along with Taijul Islam. Both the spinners bagged 8 wickets between them.
What a thumping win for the Lankans to seal the series. All it took for them was just 177 BALLS today to wrap the hosts up. The veteran, Rangana Herath was kept quiet in the first essay but boy, he came out breathing fire to dismantle the opposition. He led the charge from the front, picking up a 4-fer and then debutant Akila Dananjaya applied the finishing touches by having some more fun. He ruled the roost and made his debut game a memorable one as he now holds the record for most wickets on debut by a Lankan.

Rangana Herath To Taijul Islam OUT!
OUT! In the air... taken! Rangana Herath becomes the highest wicket-taker amongst left-arm bowlers. What a feat! goes past Wasim Akram. He is congratulated by his mates as SRI LANKA BEAT BANGLADESH BY 215 RUNS! Tossed up outside off, Islam gets down and plays the slog sweep. Gets good connection but Gunathilaka at deep mid-wicket stays calm and takes a well-judged catch before the celebration begins.

Bye! Slower through the air, landed outside off, Taijul gets down to play the big slog but the ball goes under his bat and through the legs of the keeper to fine leg. A bye taken.

FOUR! Up and over. Some fun now. Full and outside off, Mustafizur swings and swings hard to get it over mid on for a boundary.
Mustafizur Rahman walks out to bat as the innings fizzes out to a close.

Akila Dananjaya To Mehidy Hasan OUT!
OUT! Forget the drop, this one is a catch! Variation from Akila. He bowls the leg spinner, outside off and Mehidy does not pick it. Just lunges to defend and gets a thin outside edge to the keeper behind. Another wonderful catch and AKILA DANANJAYA NOW HAS THE BEST BOWLING FIGURES IN A MATCH BY A SRI LANKAN ON TEST DEBUT.

Akila Dananjaya To Mehidy Hasan
DROPPED? Perhaps. Full and around off, Hasan lunges to defend but the ball goes off the gloves to short leg. Kusal Mendis comes forward for the catch but is unable to hang on.

Akila Dananjaya To Mehidy Hasan
SIX! Just over the man! For a moment one felt the fielder had it covered. Mehidy came down the track and looked to play the slog. He made good connection but seemed to get more height than distance. Danushka Gunathilaka at the mid-wicket fence came running in initially, then went back. Leapt but the ball eluded him, beyond the ropes.

Akila Dananjaya To Abdur Razzak OUT!
OUT! The foot is on the line! Why weren't you confident, Dikka? Razzak has his name registered in the sheet as well - the train out of Dhaka. The 7 before him look like confirming it last evening itself. Full and outside off, Razzak gets down and attempts the slog sweep again. He misses and the keeper whips the bails off. He appeals towards the square leg umpire more out of habit, keeps looking at where Razzak's foot is but does not seem confident. Replays show that Razzak's foot went out of the crease, came back, but could not cross the line. What a debut for Dananjaya.
Number 8? There is a stumping appeal, though Dickwella does not look all that confident.
