Inn Break
Right then, this highly anticipated five-match T20I series has been sealed by India Women 3-1 but there's still a game to go and neither side would want to end the series with a defeat, especially with an ODI series to follow after that. The fifth and final T20I will be played on Saturday, 12 June in Birmingham. The game will begin at 11.05 pm IST (5.35 pm GMT), but you can join us a lot sooner for the build-up. Until next time then. Cheers!
The Indian captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, is up for a chat now. She says they feel really grateful that they won the series. Adds that it was important for them to get the momentum. Shares that they had very good camps back home before coming to the UK. Points about executing the plans well and everyone playing according to their roles. Also shares that they have now played three seasons of WPL and every season has been special for them, which has provided valuable experience to execute in international cricket. Ends by saying that they just want to keep doing the right things repeatedly.
England Women skipper, Tammy Beaumont, says that a couple of contrasting games and probably 150 was needed on this track, and they simply didn't get things right. Adds that they need to be better with the bat and holds her hand up regarding her soft dismissal, but also gives credit to India and says they bowled and fielded well. Mentions that India assessed conditions quickly and took the pace off the ball, and with a bit of pressure off the shoulders, they want to put in a complete performance in the final game.
Radha Yadav is named Player of the Match for her stellar bowling performance. She says the team is charged up from the outset of the series and credits their preparation and focus on fine details, like spinning the ball with more intent and executing yorkers precisely, for the results showing on the field. On adapting to conditions different from The Oval, Radha notes that it feels more natural here, as the surface suits their bowling style and feels familiar, helping them settle in quickly. Highlights that all bowlers did really well and they are looking forward to the next game. On the fielding efforts, she mentions that this is the part that they were trying to get better and says they did well in that department too.
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, Tammy Beaumont won the toss and just like the last game, she elected to bat first on a pitch that was very much on the slower side. The Indian bowlers were quick to take pace off the ball and saw the back of the English openers, who made a half century each in the previous game. From there on, it was all about keeping the pressure on the batters and the bowlers created opportunities with the fielders backing them up by holding onto the catches. Radha Yadav, in particular, was impressive and picked up a couple of wickets, and so did young sensation Shree Charani. England Women didn't have any batter even go past the 25-run mark and the lack of partnerships meant that they only mustered up 126 runs, thanks to a flourish in the final over from Issy Wong and Sophie Ecclestone.
With just 10 needed for the win, Harmanpreet fell and soon, Amanjot Kaur followed but with plenty of balls left, Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues finished things up in a hurry and India sealed the game with 3 overs remaining. A historic moment indeed and they will now be eyeing to pile on more misery on the hosts in the final game.
The innings slowed down in the middle overs as England managed to pick up a couple of wickets and used the sluggishness of the track to their advantage. The likes of Sophie Ecclestone and Issy Wong used the variations nicely and Charlie Dean and Lauren Filer bowled with a lot of heart. However, India Women were always just one decent stand away from victory and that came when skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues stitched together 48 runs. The boundaries didn't flow in that stand as the hosts built up pressure with a lot of dot balls but the duo managed to break free towards the end.
127 runs needed for the win and it seemed pretty straightforward at the break. However, 121 has been the average score here in recent times but the way the Indian openers started, it definitely did look like a pitch where you needed a score of around 150. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma picked up 53 runs in the Powerplay and broke the back of the run chase and it seemed like the English had no answer to the carnage.
HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE AT OLD TRAFFORD! India Women have their maiden T20I series win against England Women and they have sealed the five-match series with a game in hand. A terrific showing from the Women in Blue and they have deserved it. England, on the other hand, will be disappointed but this is a team that is in transition and they will be looking to bounce back in the final game.

THAT'S IT! That's the moment! History has been created at Manchester as India Women register their first T20I series win on English soil. Tossed up nicely by Sophie, but very full and sliding on the leg stump line. Rodrigues shuffles across the line and paddles it very fine to the fence at deep fine leg. Sophie Ecclestone To Amanjot Kaur OUT!
OUT! RUN OUT! A needless run, and India lose another wicket. Floated delivery, full and drifting onto the leg stump line. Amanjot uses her wrists to flick the ball into the deep square leg region. Jemimah Rodrigues calls for two straightaway and Amanjot obeys her partner to return for the second run. But, Charlie Dean shows good sharp work in the deep releases a flat quick throw towards the keeper. Amy Jones collects the ball in the bounce and whips the bails off in a flash, with Kaur well out of her crease. The replays too, confirm the same.
Run out? It did seem out and Amanjot Kaur was never in a position to get the second run there. The umpires have gone upstairs just to be sure. The third umpire checks a couple of replays and is convinced that Amy Jones whipped off the bails well before Kaur dived into the crease. OUT!

OUT! TAKEN! Wong provides a big wicket for her side, but is that too little and too late? Hurls it full and around off. Harmanpreet Kaur clears the front leg and tries to smash it over the bowler's head, but miscues her shot. She doesn't quite manage to get the bat under the ball and ends up hitting it off the toe end. It flies to the right of mid off where Sophie Ecclestone moves towards the ball and takes a fine catch. India are 117/3, needing 10 runs to win as Harmanpreet Kaur departs on 26 (25).

DRINKS BREAK! A blistering Powerplay for India with the bat has pulled them well ahead in the game. 53 needed off the remaining 60 legal deliveries and with 8 wickets in hand, it should be straightforward for the visitors. However, we have seen England Women come crawling back into the game in the last 2-3 overs and a couple of wickets here would expose the Indian middle order. Let's see how it all pans out.
