Player of the MatchOllie Robinson
Right then, this Test series is interestingly poised now. India landed a heavy punch at Lord's but England have responded with an innings victory. One thing is for sure though, the momentum is not going to stay in one corner, it will keep oscillating. How will India respond to this big loss? Do join us for the 4th Test starting on 2nd September at The Oval to find out. The action will begin at 11 am local (10 am GMT) but you can join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Ollie Robinson is chosen for the Man of the Match award! He says that it is very special and he has dreamt about this as a kid. Adds that he enjoyed bowling here and used the conditions well and getting a 5-fer in an England victory is special. Mentions that it is an honour to play with Anderson and he keeps learning from Jimmy. Tells that it was nice to get Kohli's wicket as he also hit him for a couple of boundaries in the over. Further adds that the plan was the same to Kohli, to bowl in the channel outside off, get it to nip away, and hope that he nicks one. Shares that he feels fine and it was good to get a break between the second Test and the third Test.
The captain of England, Joe Root, says that it was a clinical performance from their bowlers and they put pressure early on and from the outset, they had a good opportunity to step up and they did that well. Adds that they knew they were capable of putting in displays like this and they just need consistency and lauds his openers for their stand in the first innings. Feels that they hung in there and managed to get results with the second new ball on Day 4. On Anderson, Root says that he sets a wonderful example for the rest of the bowling group, and to consistently perform as he does, is wonderful. On Malan, Joe tells that he played beautifully, and once he got going, he looked fluent and it is great to see him play well. Says that as a batter, you should be ready to come out and score runs whenever needed. Shares that it is special to get a hundred in his home ground and hopes that he carries the same forward. On Robinson, Root replies that he has been exceptional and hopes that his form continues for longer. Opines that Curran is a talented player even though he has not performed at his best in this series. Adds that Curran had an impact late in the first innings too, with the ball. On Buttler's availability for the last two Tests, due to paternity leave, Root says that they will find out in the next couple of days. On the crowd, he says that he always gets a wonderful reception and thanks all the fans for their support.
Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, says that it was basically down to scoreboard pressure and they were always up against it after getting all out for 78. Adds that they knew it would be hard but opines that they did well on Day 3 and they got a couple of crucial partnerships which set them up, but the pressure from the English pacers troubled them on Day 4. On the first innings, he says that it was bizarre as the pitch was good for batting as demonstrated by the English openers later on. Tells that the pressure was relentless and he feels that it's a combination of bad decision-making from the batters and a quality bowling display from England. Laughs and says that he does not have any regrets with the toss and feels that their batters need to make better decisions and they were just not on the money in this game. On India's batting depth, Kohli replies that the top order has to do enough to give the lower order something to step up. Adds that as a batting group, they need to stay confident and they do not want their lower order to bail them out of a tough spot every time. Tells that they need to assess the surface and also the forecast before deciding on the XI in the next game but at the same time emphasizes that the template to play with 4 fast bowlers is working. Shares that they are confident and they have bounced back many times in the past and they take a lot of pride in trying to correct their errors.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
You don't win many Test matches after getting bundled out in the first two sessions of a Test match. India suffered that fate on Day 1 and to compound their misery, the misfiring English top order chose to return to form. Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns shut the doors on India by forming a century stand and after that Dawid Malan and Joe Root extended the English dominance. The Indian bowling was blunted successfully and once the hosts gained a 354-run lead, the writing was on the wall for India.
India fought bravely on Day 3. Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli put their hands up and reignited hope in the Indian camp. The big deficit was narrowed down to 139 with 8 wickets in hand and all the eyes were on Pujara and Kohli this morning. England had the advantage to operate with the second new ball and the pair of Ollie Robinson and James Anderson ran amok. 8 wickets went down in one session (7 in the span of 54 minutes) and India's misery with the bat was exposed once again in this Test match.
England have stormed back into this Test series. They have levelled it 1-1 and that sets up for a brilliant last two games. The English players are celebrating on the ground, jumping in joy and the crowd is loving every bit of it. After the high of the Lord's Test, India's flight has come down crashing. Cricket is a great leveller.

Craig Overton To Mohammed Siraj OUT!
OUT! EDGED AND CAUGHT! It is all done! There is the game. It has not taken long for England in the morning session on Day 4 to wrap the game up. Brilliant work from England and Overton finishes proceedings. Craig Overton bowls this one on a length, closer to the off pole, it lands and shapes away. Mohammed Siraj looks to block but the outside edge is induced. Jonny Bairstow, at second slip, dives to his right and pouches this. ENGLAND WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 76 RUNS AND LEVEL THE SERIES 1-1!

Craig Overton To Ravindra Jadeja OUT!
OUT! EDGED AND CAUGHT! Overton joins the party now! Brilliant work from him and another Indian batter takes a sad, long walk back to the shed. Jadeja walks back and there goes India's last shot at avoiding an innings defeat. On a length by Overton, landing closer to off and then leaving the batter. Ravindra Jadeja looks to defend but that proves to be his undoing, as the outside edge is caught. Another catch that Jos Buttler is not going to drop. England are one more wicket away from levelling the series.

OUT! SOUND OF TIMBER! Shami is done for this Test match. Big turn for the off spinner. Ollie Robinson To Rishabh Pant OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT AT SLIPS! Pant gets out defending. Hmm... Maybe, that's why he was swinging his bat. Ollie Robinson has shown great discipline this morning. His lines have been exemplary and he has altered his lengths superbly as well. This one is served in the channel outside off and the natural angle of the bowler takes it away from the left-hander. Pant could have left it alone but he wants to feel the ball. Goes after it with a defensive bat and edges it to third slip. Craig Overton has safe hands and England are four wickets away now from making it 1-1 in the series.

Ollie Robinson To Virat Kohli OUT!
OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! There it is! You are never settled as a batter in England and even though Kohli just got to his fifty in this over, he has to depart. Joe Root takes the catch and it is quite poetic how the English skipper plays a part in removing the Indian captain. Root seems pretty happy with his work. Back of a length, just around the off pole, the ball lands and holds its line slightly as Virat Kohli looks to block this one out with an angled bat. The ball catches the outside edge and goes to the left of Joe Root at first slip, who moves that side and makes no mistake. Two quick wickets and India are on the back foot now. Both the overnight batters have been sent packing and England are smelling blood. India are still behind by 117 runs!

NOT OUT! A brilliant decision to take the review and the on-field decision has been overturned. England were over the moon but they have to be brought back here. The sound was off Virat's bat hitting his pad, not off the ball coming off the edge. On a length this time, in the zone of uncertainty outside off, Virat Kohli looks to push at this but the ball whistles through to Buttler, who takes it and appeals. The umpire raises his finger and the roof has been raised at Leeds. Virat Kohli turns around and looks to walk back, but he turns as Ajinkya Rahane from the other end persuades him to take the review. Virat is unsure if he edged that. Root is looking around, hoping that someone will persuade him to take the review, but it does not happen. A good decision as the replays show that the ball was missing the wickets.

Ollie Robinson To Cheteshwar Pujara OUT!
OUT! PUJARA IS GONE! Robinson has hit the jackpot. He comes up with a full delivery around off, shaping back in, Pujara offers no shot and takes it on his back pad. They appeal but the umpire stays still. Root has a word with his bowler and the keeper. This time he goes for the referral in time. Remember, the impact won't be an issue here as the batter was not offering any shot. The Ball Tracker rolls in and it shows three reds. Huge roar from the English players, they have got an early success this morning and it's the big wicket of Pujara. Surely, there was an error in judgement from Cheteshwar Pujara, he was undone first by the fuller length and then by the extravagant inward movement. To worsen the situation, he was hit on the back pad. Had that been on the front pad, it could have headed over the stumps. Once again he misses out on scoring a century.
Review time! Joe Root opts for a review, for this LBW appeal against Cheteshwar Pujara! Since there is no shot offered, there is no need for UltraEdge. Time for the Ball Tracker, replays roll in and it is THREE REDS. Pujara goes back without getting his ton and England have struck early.

Right then. Time to start the action on Day 4. It is an absolute beauty of a setting for a Test match. A sunny morning, finally. All the Indian fans will be happy to see the ground baked in sunshine and light. Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara make their way out firstly and will look to continue their good work from Day 3. The English players follow them out and spread out to their respective positions. As expected, England have opted to take the second new ball and it is James Anderson who will be making use of it, first-up. Here he is, running in...
PITCH - Dominic Cork starts by sharing that it's 18 degrees at the moment. Tells that this pitch has been good, there was some swing and seam on the first day, but it is a very good pitch for batting. Mentions that the groundsmen have made sure that the pitch stays together. Talks about the rough patches visible on the surface but overall, Cork believes it's a belter for batting.
WEATHER - It is not every day that you see this sort of weather in England. It is BRIGHT and SUNNY at the moment and the ground is baked in sunshine. Anderson might not be loving looking at the sky right now, because he does not have his favoured cloudy conditions, which would have helped his cause. The Indians would be hoping for this weather to hang around till the end of the day.
The assignments for both teams are pretty clear heading into the penultimate day of this Test. It looked like the game was done and dusted when England had a humongous lead to their name, but India, to their credit, have batted way better than they did on Day 1 and the onus now lies on Pujara and skipper, Kohli. They have cut the lead down to just 139 runs and will want to quickly cut into the deficit. But, they have a problem on their hands - the second new ball. If Anderson and Robinson use the new cherry and wreak havoc on the Indians, then this game could be wrapped up today itself. But, if India can navigate the first hour of play, then they can score runs freely. The first session will really be an important one, as it shall give us an idea as to which team is on top.
Hello, folks! A warm welcome to day number 4 in the third Test between England and India. After having the first 2 days belong to England, the visitors finally made their presence felt on Day 3 as they batted well and hard. They took a while to see off the opening spell from Anderson and Robinson, but after that Pujara and Kohli batted splendidly and ensured that they cut down the deficit to as much as possible and will be looking to continue their good work. It should be another interesting day of cricket.
... Day 4, Session 1 ...
Right then. India have done well on Day 3 and would look to continue the same heading into the penultimate day of the Test. England, meanwhile, will look to use the second new ball well and make some inroads, before India cut into their lead. If England does well with the second new ball, then the game can end on Day 4 itself. But if India can see off the new ball, then runs would flow as they flowed on Day 2 when England batted. So, it is fair to say that the first session could decide the fate of this game. The action on Day 4 will begin at 11 am local (10 am GMT), but, the buildup will begin earlier. Do join us then. Cheers and take care!
Not the sort of day England would have wanted after having 2 days filled with goodness and success. They would have envisioned that they bowl as they did on Day 1 and run through the Indian batters but that never happened. In the first spell, India were slightly lucky as they played and missed quite a few of balls and the English pacers really made life tough for India, but after that, they could not continue with the same momentum. Ollie Robinson and Craig Overton got a wicket each and were good too. James Anderson did not have a wicket to his name, but he probed well with his line and length. Sam Curran again was slightly wayward and did not find his rhythm. Overall, not the best outing for the Brits.
India's middle order has been pretty fragile and the form of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli has been on everyone's mind, but these two showed everyone why they are the stalwarts in the Indian team, as they raised an unbeaten stand of 99 runs, before the light did not allow them to continue. Pujara, especially, has been under the scanner but he is into the 90s and will be looking to come out on Day 4 and reach his ton. In his company, Kohli is on 45 and will be looking to march on and cut the deficit down quickly enough.
India started Day 3 perfectly, not taking long to remove the last 2 wickets early on Day 3 and then seeing off the ferocious new-ball spells from Anderson and Robinson. Rahul lost his wicket and India looked to be slipping, but the duo of Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara batted through the entire post-Lunch session and also raised an 82-run stand, before Sharma's knock was ended by Ollie Robinson.
Another great day of cricket between these two. After 2 days where the hosts have enjoyed most of the success, it is India who have finally had their say in this game and they will be pleased with their work on Day 3. The last two sessions on Day 3 have seen India bat well and also stack up the runs at a good pace, as they end the day, behind by 139 runs.
England want to take the second new ball. But the light is not good enough for the pacers to bowl. So, the umpires have decided to call for Stumps on Day 3.

Ollie Robinson To Rohit Sharma OUT!
OUT! LBW! Umpire's call sends Rohit Sharma back! He is very disappointed. Ollie Robinson strikes just after Tea and this is exactly what England wanted. It has come against the run of play as well, as Rohit was looking very settled out in the middle. Ollie Robinson fires a full ball, angling in, on middle. Sharma looks to whip it away but the ball comes back in just a touch and hits him on the pads. England put in a big appeal and the umpire raises the finger. Sharma reviews this. There is no bat on that one but Ball Tracker has umpire's call on wickets hitting the outer half of the leg pole! This is just what England needed to start this session. A really, really good knock by Sharma ends. He would have wanted to carry on to score a big one. He whacks the ground in anger and walks back to the hut.
Review time! Rohit Sharma has been adjudged out for LBW and he opts to challenge this decision, with a review. UltraEdge shows a flatline. Ball Tracker rolls in and is it UMPIRE'S CALL on wickets. The on-field decision stays on and Rohit has to take the long walk back to the shed now.
