16.3 OUT! TAKEN! There goes the set Warner. The bowling change does the trick for England. However, not sure why Warner played that, he just got a boundary on the last ball. He looks to muscle this length ball over mid-wicket with a pull shot but his bat turns in his hands. He only manages to hit it high up in the air towards that region. Bairstow in the deep runs to his right and takes a good catch. Timely wicket for England as this partnership was looking good. 82/2
| Aaron Finch C | 14 | 17 | 2 | 0 | 82.35 |
4.3 OUT! In the air... taken! Wood draws first blood! A soft dismissal this. Wood bowls the slower one on middle, Finch looks to go over mid on but since he is early in the shot, it goes off the bottom half of the bat. It lobs towards Moeen Ali who takes an easy catch. Early strike for the hosts, just the start they would have wanted. 19/1
| Shaun Marsh | 30 | 44 | 1 | 0 | 68.18 |
22.2 OUT! Marsh has been caught down the leg side. He will be gutted with himself. That was a poor, poor ball. It is short and down the leg side, Marsh looks to pull but the ball hits the gloves and lobs towards Jos Buttler who takes it low down. Another batsman falls after getting a start. Australia in a spot of bother. 108/3
| Steve Smith | 116 | 102 | 8 | 3 | 113.72 |
49.5 OUT! A very harsh call one cay say, probably the soft signal played a big, big part there. Curran bowls a yorker on middle, Smith looks to flick it but it goes back towards the bowler who takes it and appeals. The umpires get together and then take it upstairs. The SOFT SIGNAL IS OUT! Replays roll in and there is nothing very conclusive, the umpire after a few replays rules it in the favor of the bowler. End of a magnificent innings Smith. He has probably single handledly taken Australia to where they are at the moment. 296/8
| Usman Khawaja | 31 | 38 | 1 | 0 | 81.57 |
35.5 OUT! STUMPED! That is the end of the partnership and at the right time for England. The two were just looking to step on the gas and Dawson has broken through. Khawaja steps down the track and looks to go big. Dawson fires it outside off, it goes on with the angle, beats the outside edge of UK's bat and Buttler makes no mistakes behind. England need to keep picking wickets if they are to not let Australia get to a big score. The Aussies on the other hand, have a platform set for the big hitters. 187/4
| Marcus Stoinis | 13 | 22 | 0 | 0 | 59.09 |
42.5 OUT! RUN OUT! The last thing Australia wanted and probably the last way you want to get out in a warm up game. Moeen bowls this short and on middle, this is pulled through square leg. The batters take one and then Smith wants the second, Stoinis is not interested but Smith continues running. Stoinis eventually had to go for it but he had no chance of making it. Woakes picks the ball up and throws it to the bowler who whips the bails off. So once again, just as a partnership was forming, England once again breakthrough. 224/5
| Alex Carey Wk | 30 | 14 | 4 | 0 | 214.28 |
47 OUT! In the air... what a catch that is. Take a bow Tom Curran. Plunkett bowls a slower one on middle, Carey looks to pull but is a touch early in the shot. He only manages to hit it high up in the air towards square leg. Curran there runs to his right and then with a full stretched dive, takes it. A handy cameo from Carey comes to an end. 266/6
| Nathan Coulter-Nile | 1 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 20 |
48.4 OUT! TIMBER! You miss, I hit! That is exactly what happened here. Plunkett delivers the slower one on off, Nathan is way too early in the heave. He misses and the ball hits the stumps. So once again, the bowler is making a good comeback after going for a biggie on the very first ball. 283/7
| Jason Behrendorff | 4 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 200 |
| Adam Zampa | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 100 |
50 OUT! RUN OUT! So a single and a wicket to end the innings! Zampa hits it towards deep mid-wicket and the batters take one. Zampa wants another and he runs towards the keeper's end. The fielder throws it to the keeper and then Buttler fires it to the bowler who whips the bails off. AUSTRALIA END WITH 297! 297/9

12.3 OUT! There goes the other opener! The extra bounce off that length, the same length which Richardson was bowling in his first over has done the trick. It is cross-seam again It takes off. Roy is surprised by it. He initially goes at it with hard hands but then tries to bail out. It is too late. The ball goes off the higher portion and towards cover where Lyon takes an easy catch. England in a spot of bother here. 65/2
| Jonny Bairstow | 12 | 17 | 2 | 0 | 70.58 |
6.4 OUT! In the air... taken! Jason Bherendorff has the last laugh. The every reliable opening stand has been broken early. Jason drags his length back and bowls it on middle, Bairstow goes for another boundary as he tries to pull. The ball takes the top edge and lobs up in the air towards mid on. Warner moves to his right and takes a neat catch. A well-deserved wicket for Jason, he has bowled well. 259 needed in 260. 39/1
| James Vince | 64 | 76 | 5 | 0 | 84.21 |
33.5 OUT! TAKEN! Vince, the well-set batsman is gone! A soft, soft dismissal. Vince will be disappointed with himself. The bowling change has worked wonders. Slightly short and outside off, Vince looks to upper cut it over short third man. The idea was not wrong but the execution was not there. He does not get enough meat on it and it goes straight to Lyon there. Half the side back in the hut for England. Game nicely poised now. 101 needed in 97. 197/5
| Ben Stokes | 20 | 32 | 0 | 0 | 62.5 |
21.1 OUT! STUMPED! Stokes it out of here now! He does not make use of the reprieves he got. He dances down the track and Lyon spots that. He drags it short and outside off. Stokes looks to cut but misses. Carey behind makes no mistake. England in trouble. Another stand which was looking promising has been cut short. 198 more needed in 173. 100/3
| Jos Buttler Wk | 52 | 31 | 5 | 3 | 167.74 |
29 OUT! Leading edge and taken! 50 and out for Buttler. Coulter-Nile gets the revenge and a wicket which will feel him make a lot, lot better. The slowness of the wicket does Buttler in there. It is on middle and it is the slower one. It sticks in the surface. Buttler closes his bat face way too early as he tries to flick. Ends up getting a leading edge to short mid-wicket where Khawaja takes it. Much-needed wicket as Buttler was taking the game away. Australia back in the game. 127 needed in 126. 171/4
| Moeen Ali | 22 | 26 | 1 | 0 | 84.61 |
40.4 OUT! Moeen Ali throws it away! Zampa strikes in his final over and gives Australia some hope. Not sure if this was needed with the run rate only just above 6. Zampa tosses it up on middle, it is too full. Moeen looks to go big but does not get under the delivery. Ends up hitting it straight to Richardson who makes no mistake. 239/6
| Chris Woakes | 40 | 44 | 3 | 0 | 90.90 |
47.2 OUT! Woakes is short and Australia can continue celebrating. Big wicket this. Plunkett looks to paddle but misses to get hit near the box. The ball rolls back towards the bowler. Woakes is off for a run but has to turn back. Stoinis picks the ball up and hits bull's eye at the non-striker's end. An appeal and the umpire takes it upstairs. One replay was enough to see Woakes has to take the long walk back. Game once again in the favor of Australia. 275/8
| Tom Curran | 2 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 40 |
42.5 OUT! Wicket no. 7 goes down! Australia somehow managing to hang in there. Length and outside off, it is the slower one. Curran is guilty of going too hard at it. He only manages an outside edge to point where Khawaja takes another catch. 250/7
| Liam Plunkett | 19 | 20 | 2 | 0 | 95 |
49.1 OUT! That has been crunched but straight to Maxwell! Plunkett, probably England's last hope, is walking back. He comes down the track and smashes this short ball but does not get the desired elevation. He holes out to deep mid-wicket where Maxwell takes it. 15 in 5. 283/9

| Jofra Archer | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 100 |
49.3 RUN OUT! That is the end of the game! AUSTRALIA WIN BY 12 RUNS! A short ball on middle, Archer mistimes his pull towards deep mid-wicket. They take one, go for the second. Maxwell runs in, picks the ball up and fires it to the keeper who whips the bails off. Archer is well short. Customary handshakes taking place. 285/10
