... THIRD INNINGS ...
-
!
Australia have taken a massive lead thanks to the double hundred from David Warner, a maiden-Test hundred from Alex Carey and some fine knocks from Cameron Green, Steven Smith and Travis Head. They will be happy with their perfomace considering the fact that they will be short of bowling options owning to injuries to Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc for the South African second innings. South Africa have a huge task on their hands and will need to bat their skins out if they want to get anything from here. Their main aim for the third session will be to see it out without losing wickets while the hosts will look to make early inroads and put the Proteas under more pressure. It will be an exciting session. Join us for the all the action at 10.15 am IST (4.45 am GMT).

Halt! Mitchell Starc has been hit on the helmet and he will be needing a replacement. Well, he will not be needing a replacement as Pat Cummins has declared the innings and it will also be Tea on Day 3. Australia finish on 575/8 and they have a massive lead of 386 runs. This afternoon session belonged to the batters and there were a couple of milestones as well. Alex Carey registered his maiden Test hundred in front of his family and it will be a special moment for him as he achieved it in the Boxing Day Test. Cameron Green also completed his half-century and it has been a fighting knock from him considering the fact he has a broken finger. South Africa, on the other failed to get any rhythm and were punished for it. They did create a few half chances but the luck was not on their side. Marco Jansen finally got rewarded for his efforts when sent Carey back to the hut, but they still couldn't bowl out the Aussies. However just a few moments before Tea, Pat Cummins gave the signal and declared the innings.
