CLT20 2013: Mike Hussey takes Chennai Super Kings to semifinals
Mike Hussey scored an unbeaten half-century to guide Chennai Super Kings to an 8-wicket victory over Brisbane Heat in Ranchi. Murali vijay too starred with the bat.
Mohit Sharma was on target in the very first over. he was joined by Albie Morkel, Suresh Raina, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to help CSK restrict Brisbane Heat to 137/7. He finished with 2/35. (All BCCI pics)
Chris Lynn (29) and skipper James Hopes (20) then added some quick runs to bring Brisbane Heat back in the game.
But Ravindra Jadeja had some other plans as he picked up two wickets in his first over to deny Brisbane Heat to a huge total.
Ben Cutting top scored for Brisbane with an unbeaten 42. he scored five sixes in his knock.
Chris Hartley (35) and Ben Cutting were involved in a 67-run stand that took Brisbane to decent total.
Chennai's run chase never looked in any trouble. Both Mike Hussey and Murali Vijay looked positive in their approach. Vijay scored a fiery 27-ball 42.
After Murali Vijay's departure, Suresh Raina entertained the Ranchi crowd with some fabulous sixes and scored quickly. He got out for 23.
Mike Hussey remained not out on 57 - scoring his 4th CLT20 fifty - to guide Chennai Super Kings to an eight-wicket victory. MS Dhoni finished things off in style - with a six - to help CSK book their place in the semifinals.
