CLT20 2013: Dwayne Smith powers Mumbai Indians to the final
Mumbai Indians make it to the final for the second time after beating Trinidad & Tobago by 6 wickets in Delhi. Dinesh Karthik hit the winning runs to go unbeaten on 33. Dwayne Smith hit 59 while Sachin Tendulkar, who looked in a fabulous touch, became the first Indian to score 50,000 runs in all forms of recognised cricket.
Put in to bat, Trinidad & Tobago scored 153/5 with the help of Evin Lewis' 62. Yannick Ottley also chipped in with important 41 not out. In reply, Mumbai Indians reached the target in 19.1 overs to enter final. Dwayne Smith scored 59 while Sachin Tendulkar completed 50,000 runs in career. (All BCCI pics)
Evin Lewis continued with his good form as he notched up his third T20 fifty. He scored 62.
Evin Lewis and Yannick Ottley were involved in a 32-run stand. Ottley remained not out on 41 to help Trinidad and Tobago finish on 153/5.
Kieron Pollard struck at the right time to remove Evin Lewis. Harbhajan Singh, Mitchell Johnson, Pragyan Ojha and Nathan Coulter-Nile also picked up a wicket each.
Mumbai Indians were off to a fiery start. Sachin scored 35 off 31 with the help of two back-to-back sixes.
Sachin Tendulkar became the first Indian to complete 50,000 runs in all forms of recognised cricket. Overall, he is the 16th player to achieve the feat.
Dwayne Smith continued with his good run as he notched up his second fifty in CLT20. He scored 59 and was involved in a 90-run stand for the opening wicket.
Sunil Narine bagged three wickets but did not get support from other bowlers. He finished with 3/17.
Dinesh Karthik hit the form just at the right time. The right hander scored the winning runs to remain unbeaten on 33.
