Champions League T20: The sad list of the injured
October 09, 2012 18:17
Injury may be a part of a player's career but it is quite sad when it keeps him out of a tournament as thrilling as the Champions League T20.
With a saddened heart though, we take a look at talented prospects who will be not be on the flight to South Africa this year.

Dwayne Bravo:
This explosive all-rounder from the West Indies has played several stellar knocks for Chennai Super Kings. His bowling is as devastating as his onslaught with the bat towards the end of the innings.
He though will not be part of the side this year due to a thigh strain. Nuwan Kulasekara of Sri Lanka will play in his place.

Anirudh Srikkanth:
The other Chennai player who will not be part of the side is this 25 year-old.
He has some useful knocks to his name and while he may not have been an integral part of the playing XI, his bat has managed to damage the ball on several occasions. Champions League T20 2012 though will not be one such occasion.
He suffered a fracture during a fall in a domestic match and will be out for six weeks.

Shadab Jakati will replace Srikkanth in the Chennai unit. A useful spinner, he will hope to cement his place.

Upul Tharanga:
UVA Next make their Champions League T20 debut but will miss not having this batsman to bolster their scoring.
Tharanga has a broken finger which will keep him out of action for some time.

Jonathon Bairstow:
This England player can strike the ball with murderous intent. He has built a formidable reputation for himself, powered by stoic knocks.
Yorkshire though will miss his services as he is suffering from a wrist injury.
