PV Sindhu's historic silver medal in badminton at Rio Olympics has made her a household name in India. Her on-court achievements has also resulted in huge monetary rewards for the 21-year-old sensation.
She has already been presented with a BMW car, the keys of which were handed over by Sachin Tendulkar, while state governments have made all the effort to ensure that Sindhu's bank balance rises manifold.
But that isn't all, as now the Hyderabad girl has signed the costliest endorsement deal, with a sports management firm, by a non-cricketer.
According to a report in Times of India, she has signed a three-year deal with sports management company Baseline.
Tuhin Mishra, managing director and co-founder of Baseline, said: "Her soaring popularity has attracted the attention of so many companies. In the next three years, we will work to maximise her value. Even after achieving stupendous success, her humility and the value she brings to women power is remarkable.
The company will now manage the badminton star's brand profiling, licensing, endorsements etc. Mishra added that Sindhu is in the final stages of signing with nine companies.
Under the guidance of chief coach Gopichand, Sindhu clinched the silver medal in women's singles making her the first Indian woman sportsperson to win a silver in the Olympics.
