Indian shuttler HS Prannoy has been ruled out of the Thomas Cup due to an injury to his right toe. The tournament starts in Kunshan, China on May 16.
"This is the eighth time India have qualified for the Thomas cup finals and it starts this week in China, but I would be missing this tournament. I injured my right toe two weeks back. I had injured it during a tournament in Singapore," Prannoy told PTI.
"Anyways, it is not a major injury and I have already started training again. Nevertheless, I would be supporting our boys."
The Indian team will have four singles players in Ajay Jayaram, B Sai Praneeth and Verma brothers -- national champion Sameer and runners-up Sourabh.
Prannoy, who had clinched Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold title in March, said he may also skip the Indonesia Super Series Premier starting on May 30.
"I may skip Indonesia as well as I haven't trained much. Lets see," he said.
