China's Chen Jin had a comfortable 21-16, 21-6 win over Indonesia's Taufik Hidayat on Saturday to reach the men's singles final at the badminton World Championships.

Chen, the bronze medal winner at last year's Olympics, progressed to a final against either defending champion and compatriot Lin Dan - who beat him in the semifinals in Beijing - or Indonesia's Sony Dwi Kuncoro, who were to play later on Saturday.

The score was locked 14-14 in the first game before Chen took the final three points to claim the game. He continued that run by skipping out to an 8-0 lead in game two to take complete control and win in 39 minutes.

Taufik, the former Olympic and world champion had not dropped a game coming into the semifinal but could find no answer to 23-year-old Chen, who had 11 smash winners to 1, and 13 net winners to 4.
