India Lose Series Opener Against Australia By 34 Runs
Rohit Sharma's fighting century went in vain as Australia defeated India by 34 runs in the first One-day International (ODI) in Sydney on Saturday. Chasing a target of 289, India could only manage 254 for nine as Australia took a 1-0 lead in three-match ODI series.

Batting first after winning the toss, Australia scored 288 for five.
Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh and Peter Handscomb scored fifties, guiding Australia to a decent total.
India got off to a poor start in the run-chase, losing 3 wickets in first four overs.
Rohit Sharma scored a fighting century but was unable to take India across the line.
Jhye Richardson was adjudged Man of the Match for registering figures of 4-26.
Australia lead the three-match ODI series 1-0 vs India.
