... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then! It was an exceptional inning by the batters of Delhi but the bowlers of this side have to keep their minds steady, to find some early wickets which would turn into the cherry on the cake. On the other hand, the responsibility is on the batting unit of Bangalore as they have to chase a humongous target. But they have enough talents in the lineup to make it happen.

On the other hand, it was not something Bangalore planned when they won the toss and chose to bowl first. They were able to get a break out in 5th over, all thanks to Sophie Devine but that didn't help them to gain any control of the match. The bowling unit was also not getting much support from the fielders. After the first wicket, they got their second break out in the 12th over and that was when the trails of wickets started falling for the opposition. But the bowlers were too expensive throughout the whole inning. But the bowling unit got 4 wickets latter half the innings which prevented Delhi from proposing a target beyond 200. The fielding was a mixed bag for the side as they missed a couple of catches at the crucial moment of the inning but they calmed their nerves at the end and did pretty decent. At the end of the inning, Sophie Devine and Nadine de Klerk bagged two wickets each for the team, and Shreyanka Patil chipped in for one.

Alice Capsey, the leading run-scorer so far in this season is up for a chat. She says that she wanted to continue the momentum from the start given by the openers. Tells that choosing the right time to attack the bowlers and knowing your match-ups is important. Mentions that her six over mid-wicket off Nadine de Klerk or the reverse sweep over point was her favourite shot. Ends by saying that she is a spinner and can switch mindset while facing spin which helps her a lot.

It's an outstanding batting performance by the batting unit of Delhi. Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning had a decent start and were able to give a hefty boost to the score. But eventually, the partnership ended after the dismissal of Meg Lanning. But Alice Capsey and Shafali Verma shook their hands and coordinated well to have a sturdy partnership of 82 runs off just 47 deliveries. It was such a delight to watch their drives, cuts, reverse sweep, and ramps. It was an impeccable inning for Shafali Verma as she became the second batter to complete the half-century in the Women's T20 League. She was a bit lucky to have a golden lifeline in the powerplay but she made sure to cash out well. She had an impeccable inning, scoring 50 runs off 31 deliveries and knocking 4 maximums and 3 boundaries. On the other side, Alice Capsey also kept the thunders of boundaries on but not much time. He also had to depart scoring 33 runs off 33 deliveries. But nothing was stopping Delhi tonight, to smoke boundaries. Jess Jonassen and Marizanne Kapp had a quick-fire knock and with the help of their aggressive batting, they put up a partnership of 48 runs off just 22 deliveries. Which helped their team to propose a target of 195 runs to their opposition.
