Second Ashes Test: Ian Bell, Steve Smith shine on Day 1
England were 289 for seven against Australia at the close of the first day of the second Ashes Test at Lord's on Thursday. Ian Bell scored a ton as Steven Smith and Ryan Harris bagged three wickets each.

Ian Bell notched up his 19th century in Tests and second in this series. He also became the fourth England player to score centuries in three consecutive Ashes Tests after Chris Broad, Wally Hammond and Jack Hobbs.
Steven Smith brought Australia back in the game with timely wickets of Ian Bell, Jonathan Bairstow and Matt Prior.
