Wrestler Satyavart lifts international wrestling title in Jammu
Wrestler Satyavart on Saturday lifted the 9th Roustam-e-International Indian Style wrestling title by defeating his Ukrainian rival Mykhalio Datsemko in the final bout.

Wrestler Satyavart on Saturday lifted the 9th Roustam-e-International Indian Style wrestling title by defeating his Ukrainian rival Mykhalio Datsemko in the final bout.
Satyavart won the title at jam packed Vivekanand Sports Stadium in Katra belt of Reasi by defeating his Ukrainian rival on Saturday, an official said in Jammu.
The wrestling championship was organized as a part of Navratra Festival by the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association with the active support of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), J&K Tourism Department, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Navratra Festival Committee, Katra Municipal Committee, district administration and locals, he said.
World Champion & Olympic Medalist, Wrestler Sushil Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion while as Director Tourism, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma and International Wrestling Coach Yashvir Singh was the guest of honour.
In other main contest of Roustam-e-International Indian Style wrestling, Wrestler Sagaliuk Liubomyr of England defeated Indian wrestler Yudhvir Singh in a tough bout.
Wrestler Satyavart was awarded Silver Gurj, Patta and cash prize of Rs one lakh and the runner up got cash of Rs 50,000 awarded by the chief guest.
Similarly 3rd and 4th position holders were given Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively by the chief guest, the official added.
J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association also organized first Jammu and Kashmir Kesari tile-2013 on the occasion.
Under the contest wrestler Bhadur Khan of Jammu lifted the Kesari title by defeating wrestler Ajay Sharma of Udhampur.
Similarly, Murad Ali of Jammu got 3rd position while as wrestler Balwan Singh of Reasi secured 4th position in the wrestling competition.
Cash awards of Rs 20,000, Rs 15000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 were also given to the first, second, third and fourth winners of the first Jammu & Kashmir Kesari tile -2013, the official added.
On the occasion, World Champion & Olympic Medalist, Wrestler Sushil Kumar and his coach Yashvir Singh were also honored with cash award of Rs 50,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively by the organizing committee.
The wrestling competition which was scheduled for October 11 could not conclude due to heavy rain and remaining part was completed today with 32 bouts which include wrestlers from England, India, Belarus and Ukraine also.
