India's cue ace Pankaj Advani commenced his campaign in the World 6 Red Snooker Championship by staging a grand rally to get past Ding Junhui of China on Monday.
Advani was trailing the ninth seed 3-4 before he pulled up his socks and overcame Junhui 5-4 in his opening group match in Bangkok, Thailand, according to information received from Indian team's coach Derek Sippy.

However, two other Indians tasted defeat in their first group matches.
Ishpreet Singh Chadha was blanked 5-0 by England's Mark Davis while Sourav Kothari went down 3-5 to another Englishman Michael White.
