Man crosses 6,000 ft high canyon without safety net

A 40-year-old American slackline walker on Monday crossed a canyon in central China almost 6,000 feet above sea level without a safety line, the Telegraph reported.

Dean Potter, 40, crossed China's Enshi Grand Canyon on a rope, which was 1,800 metres (5,900ft) high and only two centimetres wide. It took him two minutes without any safety equipment and barefoot to cross the 40 metre walk in the country's Hubei province.

Unlike a tightrope, a slackline can bounce or stretch at any time - making it even more dangerous.

During his dare-devil act, the New Hampshire grown up man kept listening to music on his headphones as he made his stomach-churning journey, The Sun reported.

He is also a world reknowned rock climber and base jumper.
