Gulmarg to host two-day snow rugby championship
The famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, still covered under a thick blanket of snow, is all set to host a two-day state level Snow Rugby Championship from March 18.

The famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, still covered under a thick blanket of snow, is all set to host a two-day state level Snow Rugby Championship from March 18.
J&K Rugby Association in collaboration with State Tourism Department is going to organise the Championship at golf course in the hill resort, 50 kms from here, an official spokesman said in Srinagar on Wednesday.
He informed that the teams from Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Jammu, Kargil, Baramulla, Tangmarg, Pulwama and other clubs are going to participate in the two-day event.
The tournament will be played under the rules and regulations of International Rugby Board as well as Indian Rugby Football Union, the spokesman said.
He also revealed that the certificates would be awarded to the participants besides giving away the prizes to the winners and runners up.
"The championship will be open for both men and women," he said while adding that a team will consist of 10 players each.
All the people in charge, coaches and physical teachers have been advised to submit the entry of their teams at the earliest, so that arrangements for food, hotel and transport would be made accordingly, he added.
