India's top squash player Dipika Pallikal defeated Tathreb Adel of Egypt to win the WISPA $9,000 Orange County Open in Irvine, California, on Sunday.

India's top squash player Dipika Pallikal defeated Tathreb Adel of Egypt to win the WISPA $9,000 Orange County Open in Irvine, California, on Sunday.
World No. 24 Pallikal faced stiff resistance from qualifier but eventually prevailed 11-6, 12-10, 11-9 to secure her first title of the year.
The top seed Indian had defeated Japan's Misaki Kobayashi in the semi-finals while 15-year-old Adel stunned seven-time US champion Latasha Khan.
Pallikal showed good form throughout the tournament and won it without conceding a set.
