Mike Miller says he has spoken with Heat president Pat Riley and coach Erik Spoelstra about his future, which he believes is "pretty secure" in Miami.
The Heat forward was at the team's facility on Tuesday for a very light workout. He's limited while recovering from hernia surgery. The initial prognosis was that Miller could be sidelined for up to eight weeks, though he's now indicating a quicker return is possible.
Miller says he's not bothered by his name regularly being mentioned as an amnesty candidate. When the league's new collective bargaining agreement is completed, teams will have the opportunity to waive a player and clear his salary from the books for cap and luxury-tax purposes.
Heat teammate Udonis Haslem says he believes Miller is in Miami "to stay."
