Quinton de Kock notched up his fifth century in nine ODIs against India. He has now scored over 700 runs at an average of over 83 against India.

This is the second time in ODI history that three batsmen have scored hundreds in an innings. Incidentally, South Africa are the team to have achieved it both times.

South Africa notched up 438/4. This is now the highest ever ODI score in India, beating the previous mark of 418/5 that was achieved by India against the West Indies in Indore in 2011. In that match, Virender Sehwag had smashed 219.

South Africa's total is the third-best total in ODI history. Sri Lanka have the highest team score of 443/9 against the Netherlands in Amstelveen in 2006 while South Africa blasted 439/2 against the West Indies in Johannesburg in 2015. Incidentally, in that match, de Villiers had scored the fastest century in ODIs off 31 balls.
