1st ODI: South Africa Edge Out India in Thriller

South Africa opted to bat first and lost De Kock early.

India were happy keeping the runs down in the initial overs.

The Proteas however were playing it cool.

AB de Villiers cut loose as he changed gears drastically.

India's good work came apart at the end of the innings.

The bowlers began to feel the heat.

Runs came all over the park as the last 10 overs went for 109.

De Villiers reached his century with relative ease.

Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane put on 149 runs for the second wicket as India looked to chase down 304.

Rohit got his fifty and was looking good for more.

Rahane hit a fluent 60 as he played second fiddle to Rohit.

After Rohit, Rahane perished and Suresh Raina followed, MS Dhoni looked to take India over the line as the required rate went up.

In the end it was a little too late as India lost 2 wickets in the last over and South Africa won by five runs.
