Here are the Highlights of the 2nd Test match between India and Australia straight from Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi
Rohit Sharma was given out by umpire but he straightaway reviewed it. The short fine leg had taken the catch after the ball hit Rohit's pad. UltraEdge revealed that the ball didn't touch the bat of Rohit's hands. Good review!
Both the Indian openers -- KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma -- have battle well so far. The ball has kept low at times, but the two have been vigilant to negate the threat so far.
India vs Australia Live: WICKET! Australia all out for 263!
Mohammed Shami cleans up Matthew Kuhnemann and that's the end of the Australian innings. They have put up a decent first innings total on the board. For India, Shami starred with four wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin claimed three wickets apiece.
Ravindra Jadeja got the wicket of Peter Handscomb but then the third umpire signalled a no-ball. Jadeja has been bowling too many front foot no-balls ever since his return to international cricket post injury. This is definitely not a good sign for a player of his stature, that too being a spinner.
Another good shot from Nathan Lyon for his second four of the over. It was bowled short by Mohammed Shami and Lyon hit it from the backfoot past the backward point region for a four. A proper cricket shot it was!
Another one bites the dust! It is quite often that we see Ravindra Jadeja claiming two wickets in one over. He first dismissed set batter Pat Cummins and then went through the gate to clean up new batter Todd Murphy.
It's tea on first day. Australia scored 105 runs in the session while they lost three wickets. Peter Handscomb and Pat Cummins have added 31 runs for the seventh wicket so far.
A clear inside edge from the bat of Pat Cummins but India goes for an LBW referral. Ravichandran Ashwin and skipper Rohit Sharma only met disappointment.
India vs Australia LIVE: Pat Cummins Dealing in Sixes!
Pat Cummins has taken the aggressive approach of dealing with Indian spinners. He has already hit two sixes against Ravichandran Ashwin. The off-spinner might have to change his strategy a little.
You live by the sword, you die by it! The sweep shots were really helpful for Usman Khawaja thus far, but not this time at least. He got a boundary on the previous ball through a reverse sweep. Just when he went for another similar shot in the follow up, Ravindra Jadeja bowled it well down the leg side and the batter eventually hit it towards point in air. And... KL Rahul picked a blinder there to see Khawaja depart for 81.
Peter Handsomb uses the depth of the crease beautifully to score a boundary on the off side. The partnership between him and Usman Khawaja has now crossed the 50-run mark. This is a good comeback from Australia.
Mohammed Shami has got the wicket of Travis Head and Australia are four down. Head could have left the delivery well outside off stump but decided to go for it and paid the price. KL Rahul took a sharp catch at slip.
Good use of feet from David Warner. He danced down the track and hit R Ashwin's delivery over the long-off for a six. This is good batting from the Aussie.
It's Lunch on Day 1 of the ongoing second Test between India and Australia in New Delhi. The guests started on a solid note after opting to bat, but Ravichandran Ashwin's twin strikes, of late, helped India bounce back in the game. Usman Khawaja (50 not out) will be the key for Australia in the second session.
Australia have scored two consecutive fours soon after the wicket of David Warner. While the first one came through a reverse sweep hit by Usman Khawaja, the second one came as a bye as the turning delivery beat everyone, including the wicketkeeper.
Usman Khawaja has been lucky in this innings so far. This time, he had almost chopped a Mohammed Siraj delivery on his stumps but the ball missed the sticks and rather ran for a four. Poor luck for Indian pacers so far!
It was a tough catch to be honest and Shreyas Iyer failed to take it. Usman Khawaja got an inside edge of his bat on the bowling of R Ashwin. Iyer, who was stationed at short leg, got the ball at a really low height and thus failed to hold on to it.
Warner gets a band-aid wrapped around his left elbow, the area that got hurt and we are all set to resume now. Oh! It's another bouncer from Mohammed Siraj in the follow up. We have some good contest going on here in Delhi!
Poor luck for India! Usman Khawaja went for a drive well away from his body and got an outside edge. To the batter's good luck, the ball flew through the vacant third slip region and ran for a four.
Down the leg side from Mohammed Shami and he gets the punishment from Usman Khawaja. It is the second four from the Aussie opener's bat in the ongoing innings. He is looking more comfortable than David Warner at the crease.
